What's the point of installing a G30-660 and keeping the boost so low. A good old GT3071 wouldn't had been much worse. Still, the final result is very good.

I’m in the final stages of building a B16a budget turbo sleeper Del Sol and I’ve learned a lot from this build. With a healthy stock B16a on 7-10 psi it’s nice to know at 250-300whp it’s going to be a whole lot of fun. Big hp is nice, but on the street fast spool and drivability is where the fun is at - your Civic proves it.
@hydrocarbon828 ай бұрын
I've got a dinky d16 with forged bottom end and small turbos are where it's at for the street. Mine is just under 300whp but having instant boost makes it more fun than 500whp spinning in 4th. You're going to love it with the right turbo, just like these guys.
@-JDMCRX-8 ай бұрын
@@hydrocarbon82cheers mate, mine is a Turbonetics T3/4E 5057 with a .63 rear housing so should be fun.

if you guys are looking ECT thru Link, i've noticed there honda calibration for ECT sensors read 10-12C higher. best way to compare is to let a known thermoswitch turn on the rad fan itself and check how much ECT it is. I have a spoon thermoswitch and it's rated to turn on at 80c, i see it trip on when Link reads at 92C.

Such a cool little build. Congrats boys! 260whp in a car that light is more than enough and with low boost when you grid life it, it will be far more reliable. Seriously that thing looks like a ton of fun.
@ianm4328 ай бұрын
260whp with good torque like that would feel amazing! The internet has ruined good cars by making sub 500hp and 1000hp lame. Especially in the turbo LS world where everyone thinks a mild build should be 700. Most people riding in a 550whp car would believe you it makes 1000 if you told them. Very few people have felt 1000hp and even fewer could tell the difference.

Great looking car! Since when is 260 whp (maybe 290-ish crank) in a 2100 lb car anything less than impressive? It seems to handle the power well, looks great, sounds good. Add a bit more cooling capacity and you've got a fantastic fun car. There are a lot of car project YT channels, but what sets yours apart is your taste in cars. Maybe it's because I'm GenX, but each project has produced a really tasteful result.

As a former mx5 BP guy it always amazes me how efficient those Honda engines are. It would take a lot more boost to make that power and would be on the edge of no more rods. And this is a really low rent version of a low rent engine for Honda's. They really do make an efficient air pump

I think I look forward to these videos as much as i look forward to anticipated movies and tv shows. Can't wait to see how these two stack up against each other. Maybe for the next build you guys can do a boosted vq of some kind, those guys have been making a lot of progress lately in terms of reliability and power, like into the 600-700 range on stock vq37 motors. Even the lowly vq35de has had its stock motor limit updated from 400whp to 500whp with supercharging and e85. I'm definitely biased but there seems to be a lot of interest and intrigue there but there isn't much high-quality, well organized, and well produced professional content like you guys produce covering those types of builds. It's mainly just finished builds going street or dyno pulls, long winded vlog style videos that are 3/4 about unrelated things, interior pov footage just driving and talking, etc. Nothing like the content you guys produce, really showcasing the build process and end result and performance outside of some pulls on the street. Maybe there are some good numbers view wise there since your production would immediately set you apart from the rest of the content around the topic.

This is actually a great combination. Exhaust an all. You don't need the VTEC head. Yes, it will make more power at high rpms but it will be more sluggish at low rpms. Which is something you don't want. This is a good all-round setup for a daily driver and as a weekend toy, which I think is what you were going for. Now leave it and track it. It's a Honda, have fun with it.

I'm predicting the eg will pull on the ef in the straights but the ef will be able to catch up in the corners. The linear power band of the b16 will allow more throttle usage throughout the turns, while the snappy spool of the turbo will cause the eg to understeer if not managed right. All in all should be an awesome race though!😊

260whp is PLENTY in the real world. Only on the internet where everyone daily drives 500+whp does 260whp sound "small". I have 520 whp on my sc'd s2k and it's to much. It's not usable at all-just gobs of wheel spin up top. And no, I'm not putting super sticky tires on cause I don't like the idea of breaking parts. So I'm going to a different, lower, more usable hp setup (PD blower from a centri blower).
