I'd guess that the amount of extra air being added is being cancelled out by the air being hotter, thus being less dense. Might I suggest you try a fridge/freezer motor.. You'd need to run it and store it in an air tank then run that into a valve on the intake that you can turn on and off inside the car, because the output of those fridge motors is low, but they're high density. I only know this as I wanted a silent air compressor, so I made one with a fridge motor lol

There is a working electric turbo on mcleetus . Main problem was heat melting whatever plastic you used on intake. An engineering group from Sweden made a reinforced plastic intake.
