Mercedes Star Replacement | How to replace a broken Mercedes Hood Badge

Suddenly the Mercedes Hood Logo is gone. Stolen? Those darn kids. Wanna look like 90's rappers with a star around their neck. Just to find out it broke due to my own fault. This is one of the easier jobs. A quick swap and voila.

Glad it helped! I didn't even think about removing it to get it cleaned. That is a great idea. I was always afraid to hit it with a buffer. By removing it, that thing can look like brand new again. Good luck. And thanks for the tip ;)

I just noticed today that my 17 year old son emblems was missing/ broke off his car during the hard snow and ice storm we had last week, I also thought that one of the other high school kids got him also lol. Excellent. You can get just the button. I like the star better but if that’s an ongoing issue the cap is just clean.

Awesome! I had a similar problem - the Mercedes star on the trunk of my 02 S500 fell off at a car wash. I ended up buying the replacement star from my local dealership cause the price was similar to online.

That sucks. Ours too. But the one we ordered wasn't shaped to the same as the trunk. So we ended up bending it in place. I hope yours went easier.

GREAT VIDEO TURBO SNAIL, I have a question . My S500 is showing SRS on the dashboard and when I check , I found out that the rear seatbelt buckle is not working. Do you have any video on how to change the buckle. Thank you for your help.

If it’s the buckle, it should be attached to the seat. What you need to probably do is remove the center console. The buckle should be attached with a bolt to the seat. I do have a video on how to remove the center console. Maybe that helps a bit. Good luck, and let me know how it worked out ;)

I would recheck it but I don’t remember it coming with some type of seal so it should be ok that way.

The most iconic part of the S class and one that still makes it imposing today:) Happened to one of my already cracked center caps on the CL550 as I was detailing the microfiber caught it, but I just e6000 it for now., Lol They make tons of fake center caps but some seem to break easy I’ve heard.. oem is only about 20 bucks anyhow:).. Lol

I bought some cheap wheel caps on eBay and they are absolutely crap. I’ll probably have to get a pair, I saved 2 of the old ones. I asked my son if he wants the solid cap instead of the star, he laughed at me. Of course he wanted the star. The nrw one looks great. I guess over 16 years the old one fades. I can’t believe I got it for $21.

Hello. I have a 2005 S500 AMG package. I want to paint the lower mesh grille but I cannot figure out how to remove the 3 grille pieces. They seem to have mini zip ties holding the grilles onto the car. Can you please tell me how to remove the lower mesh grilles?

How do you replace sun faded plastic wood trims inside interior

I think the wood trim just pops out with a trim removal tool. I've seen people sand off the lacquer as that is what yellows and then reinstall it. Looks amazing. Maybe worth a try. Not sure how those pieces are fastened, but I would assume you'll probably need the replace the plastic clips they are probably attached with.

You can 3D print the tool, or buy an already 3D printed tool from ebay for cheap.

oh no!!! It's super easy to replace. Consider just the cover instead of the start. Some people like that. Same process but it's flat. I got mine on Amazon. Check the link in the description.
