Iceland was pretty much like that all over. Reykjavik was bustling and vibrant, and then the rest of the nation was chill, mainly rural, very laid back and lots of places where the history was really obvious. I loved it! :)

Iceland had some pretty cool history - lots of Viking ties, and it is really interesting how Icelanders survived with limited resources. The museum was really fascinating. :)

Skogafoss was INCREDIBLE! It is so powerful - we got to sleep in a tent just beyond the falls that night and it was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of the water. :)

We thought it was great we got a three night package with flights hotel and breakfast, we didn’t see the Northern lights but maybe next time . As a place it’s expensive for food and lodgings but for the right deal we will be back. Hope you are having a great day 👍😎

I think it is so smart how they'd reuse timbers from old shipwrecks. Some buildings even had writing on the wood leftover from the ships. I'm very happy you enjoyed this little tour! :)

They are such neat little houses. I think more farmers here in Canada should start building sheds and outbuildings like these! :)

There's something about those turf houses that is magical. I'm sure if you lived in them in the middle of an Icelandic winter, you might not feel that way, but as an outsider, that's how I felt! ;)

I've seriously always wanted a turf roof! Not necessarily a stable on the first floor though. I've always heard stink rises to the top, so not sure that's a good idea. I'm kinda picturing myself mowing the roof now haha! What do they have under the turf: slate? What an awesome waterfall too!

Yes under the roof looked like flat slate rocks. The Icelandic people were very creative and inventive when it came to using the resources that they had. I'd love to see you make a video about constructing your own turf house!!! Do it! :)
