'94-02 DODGE RAM- Windshield wiper issues!!

Wipers wouldn't work on their own; previous owner wired it directly to the battery. I want it back to working like normal.
Time to do some diagnosis & figure out exactly what the problem is.

Yep mine was the wiper motor after I replaced everything else so ya fresh rebuild on wiper system.

Mine was just bad ground on motor

alot of the ground issues are the ground harness under the battery on the inner fender. The wires are almost 99% corroded off on dodge ram trucks. generally you will fix several issues at once.

@@tonysholders6938 when i replaced motor it didnt work ran new ground solved that issue then i had issue when turn turn signal on wipers went on turned headlights on wipers went on honk horn wipers went on. That ground pole your talking about was my issue most of the eyelets were rotted put new in solved them all.

Mine keeps blowing the fuse what could cause that

check your wiring; most likely a hot wire is grounding out on a metal surface, or the insulation on the wire has worn through. You may need to check & reattach all your grounds while you're in there, as these trucks' wires can get corroded being this old

Did you ever figure this out? The fuse blowing? I’ve put a new intermittent switch and motor and still pops fuse on key on.

My truck is having electrical issues as well 1999 ram. When I try to turn on the wipers, the radio and the multi function switch goes out. If I turn the multi function switch back off, the radio comes back on. Thinking it might be a bad ground now. Thanks for the video👍

Seriously about to bypass everything because I put a new switch and a new motor on... It was working until I put it back together... Now it's not 🤬 bout to just put the high on a toggle switch 🤬🤬🤬

Mine moved a lot slower with stock ground and bypass ground.

@@brandonbrewer21 check your wires- I had an issue with my plow truck. After 2 hours of searching & testing I found a power wire that supplied voltage had corrosion inside where it was butt connected to another wire to split off to supply power somewhere else. I checked voltage at both ends of the wire & was only getting 4 volts at the end of it. Tore it out & put a whole new piece of supply wire & boom- fixed.

@@Smittyschannel I bypassed all the wires completely with heavy wires... It almost stalled and the engine bogged trying to push amps.. all of a sudden it broke free and turned fast a few times and then the engine bogged again as the wipers stopped.. I assumed it was the wiper transmission having old grease and rust causing it to bind randomly 🤷. I got a new one from LMC truck today and am going to try that... If that doesn't work.... Tannerite 🤷

@@Smittyschannel well... I put the New transmission on the new motor... The new motor apparently gained a wiggle in one of the terminals and no longer works properly 🤔 the old one that works fine in the new transmission hooked up to a battery charger... Instantly popped a fuse when I turned the key.... Is there some other control module in the truck besides the switch and the relay in the fuse panel??? I seen it mentioned on other brands of cars??? I'm seriously about to tannerite the hell outta this thing because I'm about $250 in and still don't have fkin wipers 😡😡😡

@@brandonbrewer21 sounds like something wrong with the new wiper motor. Sometimes the cheaper ones aren't built as well, & the gears may be binding. I just buy a used one at the junkyard & test it on my truck before I leave

Mine has stopped working. I've always hated and never owned a Dodge. This is just one of many reasons I'll never own another Chrysler project. I've never saw a company make a truck that had a dash that literally falls apart

Guess you've never seen a square body Chevy dash before. They would disintegrate also. But not like the 94-2001 Ram trucks.

I just want to know where the washer hose connects to I have the main line coming from the washer reservoir up to the blades but it’s just the single rubber house where can I get the dual hose that connects to the main

typically it comes from the washer pump (bottom of reservoir drivers side of radiator) up to the hose connection on drivers side

@@Smittyschannel yes I know that I’m talking about the the two smaller hoses that go into the plastic y piece do those to hoses go into the cowl? I bought mine without one and didn’t know if they connected to nozzles already in the cowl

@@mattleibrock yes the main line comes underneath the cowl & connects to a Y fitting. That takes 2 hoses & runs under the cowl to each spray nozzle
