I used to manage an animal sanctuary. This brought back so many fond memories of Mona the beautiful turkey and all of her turkey friends. They loved to be pet, sit right next to you/on you and just chill. We'd chat about the day, haha. It was so special to see them be so comfortable that they would close their eyes and take a nap in your lap or just stay snuggled up next to you. Wishing Pepper many, many more happy years with her family. 💞

Turkeys are very sociable like dogs 😊 got 10 of them mail delivered . They followed my dad around when he was in the garden, waiting for any leftover weeds and such . They lived many years ( up to 5 years ) until their passing .

Wild turkeys are usually pretty aggressive! One was blocking my way out of a parking lot the other day, I did a little honk and it almost ran up and attacked my car! 😂

I know, right?!! Especially an adult turkey (even though she was probably still young at the time). The fact that she goes on car rides with them is amazing to me! …also, that she goes indoors, and sits on their laps, and lets them pet her back like a cat. All of it! 😆🥰 When she first met them, she was coming out of the woods at night to sleep on the top of his truck at night. She must’ve been scared of a predator nearby, maybe coyotes. The fact that they let her must’ve made her feel part of a flock? I’m unsure how the bond happened but I’m happy it did! 🦃❤️🧡💛

We had a Tom and his flock of ladies that would strut around for camp to camp at my grandfather’s place up on Seneca lake back in the early eighties. That Tom loved the attention but his harem always kind of stayed in the background and never approached.

Thanks for having compassion for animals! You should look into what happens in the dairy and egg industries. Pretty horrible stuff and even more cruel than animals raised for meat in some ways:/

Still, applaud anyone for taking the step to be vegetarian. Anything that reduces the demand for animal meat is a step in the right direction. Even if it's eating plant-based a few times a week. Every step counts imo

She loves her Dad. Who ever thought a Turkey could become a valued family member. This is delightful. I have an 18 year old cat who gets along well with my Snakes. I am 74 years old, and love all animals. Pepper chose your family. Love that.

Wild turkeys are very easy to get to come to you, just kinda shake your hand and they will come running. They are so social and have awesome little personalities. I don't have a turkey pet, but my dog and i greet and give treats to our turkey pals every day, on our walks.
