This is very common in lndia, they make it with clarified butter also known as ghee which gives it a unique, rich flavour. I have seen in many Turkish series this being served in memory of someone who has passed away.

@fafasedareborn45023 жыл бұрын
That's right Aysenur, in Europe we have coarse and thin semolina but for halva I prefer the coarse one as the result is more juicy. I love it with candied orange peel instead of nuts and sprinkle it with cinammon. Try also adding a chocolate bar when it is still in the pan for a chocolate version. Yummy!

@@hijabitrendz7551 yes, just add after the syrup is soaked up. Crushed pineapples cooked (or microwaved) with sugar makes amazing halwa. We like to add cashews, raisins into halwa while cooking and garnish with almonds and grated dry coconut. Pista(green) looks good in pineapple halwa(slightly yellow)

We make a very similar halva in Pakistan, very popular for breakfast. Our cooking method with dry roasting the semolina in fat and then adding syrup (with or without milk) and addition of nuts is the same, but grape molasses and ice cream is new. And in Pakistan we usually make it with saffron and green cardemoms. Some people also add screw palm (kewra) extract. Thank you for this. Will definitely try it for ramadan breakfast one day
