Turkish VAN LIFE Decision time - have we made the right one?

Never be surprised by the kindness of Turks. Shortly after moving here I joined a gym. If I saw someone wearing a very cool shirt I quickly learned not to compliment them on it. Every time I did they would immediately start trying to give it to me. A year ago today I severely broke my leg in a motorcycle accident. I was on the ground for well over an hour waiting for the EMT's. A guy I'd never seen before or since stayed right next to me the whole time giving whatever comfort he could. I regret that my pain kept me from thanking him. This is such a wonderful place to live.

I know what you mean. You compliment them on something, they'd give it to you. Go out for lunch, you'd be wrestling with them so they don't pay for your lunch.

I was in tears after watching this video . Turkish people are very friendly . I love turkey and would love to retire there . If you were in any other European country this job would cost you fortune . How nice of them to not take money for the job .

Thank you.The people of İzmir are amazing. After the earthquake,every restaurants,hotels started to anounce to victims 'everybody welcome'. On the 3rd day,rescue team saved a 3 year's old from the ruins.She asked for meatballs and Ayran.Afterwards,the famous meatball restaurant distributed meatballs and ayran to the earthquake victims. It made me cry. If you are hungry or no place to stay...,just tell to people,they would try to help you without any return, just a smile would be enough.

@@erhansazak6457 hi thank you for your comment. I have also just like Marian and Chris have travelled to some of Europe in a camper with my children we enjoyed it. I would recommend everyone to try it. But I never knew much about Turkey only that it has a bridge that separates Europe from Asia. And that it is an Islamic country. I have to say that Marian and Chris are great ambassadors for Turkey showing the real native people,and how they live. I am sorry if I have offended any one from my lack of knolage , but now I have seen the real videos of Turkey, not just BBC or similar media food series travel show, but the real hospitality. i would love to go to Turkey in our own camper we have a smiley transit camper and both myself and my husband drive it. I would take some of my grandchildren with me. The problem is time I only get 4 weeks off for year for holidays and this year I have been forced to take 2 weeks all ready because of lockdown. So hopefully someday we could go there.its great that so many small company's can make reproduction products for campers over there. And I know that they make ford products there for our camper if anything was to go wrong. Here in ireland it's hard to get campers repaired we would have to travel across to the UK. Because every thing regarding besppoke repairs in ireland is awkward because of EU red tape. Thanks you for replying and goodbye.

Brilliant mini refurb of the van, upholstery job was awesome! We reupholstered our tourer some years ago and added an inch to the base cushion thickness, unbelievable difference. Logo great 👌 too!

Selamlar Marslı ve Chris. As we have said before, you just can not beleave just how ki d and friendly the Turkish people are, which ever part of Turkey your in. My experience coming on holiday forgeyting all my under wear. So hving to buy new at the local shop in Dalyan I buy enough to last me, Marilyn gets new shoes (cost should be about 20/25 pounds) I go to pay, Ali says you pay tomorrow. He kept saying this for the whole of the 3 weeks we were there. Till I got my money out on the day before going home, he say give me 100 ltr so I did. Less than the price it should have been. You can have no money at all but these wonderful people will feed you give you water and a bed for the night, and mo ey is never mentioned. That's why we have been going now for over 10 years. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🙏🙏🙏

You couldn't have picked a better country to be stuck in for a year. Amazing generosity everywhere, I've cycle toured there since the 80's, it's always been the same. Crazy they did that upholstery for free!!! Couldn't see a Turkish travelling family being treated in the UK the same way unfortunately. Like the logo!!
