Cool battle! Really liked how there was 4 orc armies in different parts of the field, made it feel really epic :3 and the orc AI did well! Was even cool how the chorf AI decided to commit the majority of their forces to fighting grimgor as if they thought taking out the leader would scatter the waaagh

It's fun to see this from the opposite side the player will usually experience it, playing as Astragoth and having Grimgor come down the mountain at the head of a huge Waagh. In general the Chorf - Greenskins match-up is one of the funnest match-ups in the game, two evil factions who despise each other going at it with completely different styles.

@@NosreBDF Greenskins are absolutely evil though. They practice slavery and eat people. And that's just the Orcs. Goblins are really into torture as well. Dark Elves regularly oppose the forces of the chaos but that doesn't mean they're the good guys. Like when you have a faction like the Greenskins who kill people for fun, wage war for fun, torture people for fun, bully everything in their way for fun, and regularly eat people, in what sense could they possibly be construed as good? Sure, they may not be as evil as Chaos Dwarfs, but that's mainly just because Chaos Dwarfs are professional dickheads, whereas the Orcs and Gobbos are dickhead hobbyists.

​@@NosreBDF I'd still say that Greenskins are evil, and ironically they're super chaotic, they just specifically are not Chaos worshipers. Grimgor only showed up to fight Chaos because Teclis teleported him over, and Malekith told him that Archaon thought he was a little bitch

@@danletkoHe was the Incarnate of the Lore of Beasts, meaning he was meant to be on the side of good. The way that he had to be convinced to join the fight was only typical for Grimgor but his essence is not evil. He is not even evil if you look at him from a neutral perspective, he is just chaotic neutral. He doesn't care that much about destroying or killing aimlessly, he just wants to prove he is the best, meaning he will kill anyone who will give him a good propa fight.

@@NosreBDF I think someone who goes around killing and destroying everything he sees should qualify as evil. If anything, his nature is evil, and he was just manipulated into doing something good (attacking Archaon). He literally destroyed all of Cathay for no real reason.

I just did this a couple of days ago. By turn 10 I had a tier 5 settlement, 90k gold and 3 armies with full waaaghs. I can explain what the tactic is for this strategy, at turn 7-8 you should have 2 stacks, one of which should be Grimgor. You make the Waaagh on the Chaos Dwarves and then you stand outside your settlement close to them on camp preferably. They will think they can beat you and come and fight with 1 stack against your 4. You beat them and then stay there again for replenishment. Then they send their second army to you and it dies as well. Now you only have to deal with the garrison with 4 armies. They may even sally out but even if they don't you can easily beat them. I literally did it on my first try, but I have to say I am a veteran Total War player. It is very fun and very tempting to do this, both for the trophy and for the settlement and money. To get it on tier 5 you may need to reload a few times. If you play on Legendary, I guess you have to settle for a tier 4 settlement usually, but it still is great.

Funnily enough I did the exact same a couple days ago when I started a grimgor campaign. I just found its a lot more manageable waiting in raiding/encamp stance until they come out of their cities to fight, then you can overwhelm them. Massive stack of big'uns + wah army does the job against them, and if they decide not to come and attack you you're still raiding their territory for massive amounts of gold each turn.

All factions receive replenishment at the start of the player's turn. So if the AI attack you on their turn, they will be receiving 1 turn worth of replenishment when it's your turn again.

At some point something changed in the way the ai recruits armies, cause i remember playing capaigns where in the early turns the ai didnt have 20 stacks bit more like half full armies, kinda like the player, given the limited gold. But now even in lower difficulty campaigns by turn 5 the surrounding factions have all 20 stacks

Servants of the Conclave is the special non-playable faction that has a powerful army from the start. So it's not surprising for them specifically, to be this strong.

i play a campaign in coop with my friend and that is in fact our experience. Chorf friend having to fend off 4-5 Fully Waaaagh'd armies from Grimgor. We managed to push them away eventually and go on the counter offensive.

I had a similar situation to this when I did my Grimgor campaign. It took me like a dozen tries, but I eventually beat it. Afterward, you're set for the rest of the campaign. I had around 600k gold by turn 8 or 12 or something like that. It was a cakewalk from there

This faction is actually pretty easy to deal with in my opinion, you just have to ambush them from the mountains above their main settlement. One army on raid mod to bait them, one army on ambush stance and you can auto resolve it very easily.

This is one hell of a scrap! I just beated the Servants for the first time with Kholek: even if he had 8 dragon ogres, 4 shaggots, 2 high level heroes and a high level sorcerer I had to be very careful and they still did damage. Attacking them with very little armor piercing damage and without a counter to the flying monsters display a greenskin level of recklessness. The player choose the race right for him 😆

The garrison recovery is one of the most frustrating things about these new total war games. Its the same across all difficulties and it just feels so scummy to watch big garrisons like altdorf or skavenblight get their full doom stack garrison back right after you fight them.

A camera exploit so you can see anywhere in legendary difficulty: Zoom your camera in with the keybind then double click an area you cannot move your camera to, then as your camera goes there click the zoom in button again. Not really useful but cool.

This match made me stop playing Greenskins (not my gameplay, I just had the same match pretty much). Similar army too, except by then I still only had the normal War Boyz with some archers, the single artillery piece which is outranged by theirs. Got absolutely demolished. Chorfs are fuckin' OP compared to Greens by this point. War Boyz got demolished by the special ranged frontline (blunderbusses?). Archers and infantry got melted by their elementals, monstrous units and artillery. I had no idea how to deal with them as Greenskins without higher tier units which are impossible to get with Chorfs Chorfing down your entire territory piece by piece. So, I'm glad this came out. Might give the Boys another go and be more patient. I'm just too used to Skarbrand.

They didn’t come back in full, if the garrison unit is “??” It doesn’t show their actual health. You can find out if you besiege them what their actual health is.
