Literally the ONLY video on KZbin about repeat patterns that I understood and could imitate perfectly! Thank you!

Thank you for your tutorial. When the file was converted to bitmap, is that different than vectorizing the pattern? Do you have a repeat pattern video that uses vectors so that the quality of the images/motifs are not blurred by enlarging them?
@christinehaylock8428 Жыл бұрын
From what I can gather, Affinity still doesn't offer vector patterns. Fingers crossed it comes soon!

I can't find the transform tool. I can find under Layer/transform- but my only options are rotate or flip. The AF 2. Did they do something different with the transform tool? I used to find it easily. Did I do something to make it go away?

Great tutorial. I have just subscribed. Question: How do you get the object that overlaps the edge of the document to be visible? I only see the part on the document, the rest is invisible. I cannot see a setting to change this. Many thanks.

I I remember correctly minus (-) toggles what’s visible outside of the document.

Hi! Have you some video about how to use a set of pattern from freepik? I do not know how to use one by one
@angiejohnson72282 жыл бұрын
When I click the Fill tool, I'm not seeing the option at the top for Fill Type where you chose bitmap. I see Tolerance, a Contiguous checkbox, a dropdown for normal, darken, etc. and then Source which gives the option of Current Layer, Layers Beneath, etc. I don't see the Fill Type menu anywhere. What am I missing?
@trent7972 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you are in the Pixel Persona and using the Flood Fill Tool. You need to be in the Designer Persona and use the Fill Tool. Up at the top left under the File menus, choose the Designer Persona and then you can choose the Fill Tool that he uses. It looks like a rainbow wheel.

Hi everyone! Ive seen lots of tutorials on how to create repeats using symbols or singular images at different sizes. Ive been struggling to create a repeat using Affinity with one of my scanned images, I cant find a way to get rid of the seams, I'm beginning to wonder if this is even possible? Im hoping someone out there has managed to do this and can tell me how? Any help or advice appreciated :)

This is awesome but I did notice when I zoom in on the bitmap file that the edges looked a little pixelated. Will this be an issue when printing out on screen printing positives?
@bibipu23 Жыл бұрын
I think you can just do a bigger size than 400x400! The important thing it's that it's a square :D
@alexvelis12 жыл бұрын
how do you get the image to be on the front of the square? when I duplicate it and place the image on the edge of square the image does not show on the black of the screen
@DesignMadeSimple2 жыл бұрын
You may have an artboard enabled instead of the regular canvas. It should still work though. The part of the design that extends beyond the square gets excluded anyway.

how do i do this in an adobe program? AI or Ps?
@davewhitaker11792 жыл бұрын
DMS, I replicated what you did here and it worked really well. However, I've hit an issue that I can't figure out. When I try and export the pattern-filled image as a PDF it only exports the small image that is used to create the fill. Do you know why that is or if it is something that is being done incorrectly. As an additional point, when I export the pattern-filled image as a PNG or JPG, the image renders correctly, just not as a PDF. Hoping you know the answer. Your Affinity tutorials are gold - keep up the great work!

This is great and all, but how do you MAKE repeating patterns? Krita has an INCREDIBLE ability to live-tile a repeating pattern so I can draw seamlessly at the edges to create a perfectly tiling texture. Does Affinity have this capability? My main complaint with Krita is the performance issues, so if I could get this to work with Affinity that would be AWESOME! :)

I'm reallllllllly liking Affinity suite. Buddy of mine pointed me to it and now with Davinci i'm a gnats ass away from saying adios to Adobe.
