Add a metal or rubber washer between the wingnut and the camera body and you have THE deal. Thank you very much!

This is a nice easy way to DIY the overhead. Nice work!

Nice job, man! I think I might go with a slightly more sturdy mount on the tripod end, but I'm not sure. One way or another, you inspired me to dial in my own overhead. Thanks!

Yeah absolutely. The sturdier the better, glad I can help

Nice video, Jean. I followed your instructions just like you stated (even the parts from Home Depot) and worked great! Saved me $$$ when compared to what being sold on the Internet. Thanks!

Follow up - I redid my rig. The 2x2 rough pine was too rough. No matter how much I sanded I found splinters. Or should I say they found me! The better quality lumber is worth the few extra dollars. Looks nicer, too.
@thefeedingmodel4 жыл бұрын
Lol those splinters. yeah the pine strips can be a hit or miss. I’ve been running into some bad stock while working thru some other projects. What’s you go with oak?
@michaelmcdonald33454 жыл бұрын
@@thefeedingmodel Hard to find acceptable #2 pine. I found #1 pine at Home Depot with few knots and a finished cut. Not a rip cut with a chain saw. Light sanding was all that was needed. Didn't see any oak.

I like what you did here. For the sake of sturdiness and not fussing with a counterweight, I think I would modify the design to mount onto two tripods. I have two motorized 4 foot length sliders and slide manually even without power assist and both are supported by a pair of the same make and model tripod. For less of a footprint on a table or countertop, smaller tripods using a wide angle lens could be anywhere from a foot or more away in height from the subject matter being shot. Thanks for the inspiration!
@thefeedingmodel4 жыл бұрын
That 4ft slider with dual tripods would make for a sick setup 👍🏾👍🏾

Where'd you find that particular sandbag from? :) -Todd
@thefeedingmodel9 ай бұрын
I took an old draw string bag and threw some ankle weights into it. Sand in a ziplock bag works too. amzn.to/48Hg3tA

@@thefeedingmodel Thanks! Yah, that's actually a nice bag but I was having a hard time doing a keyword search for it. Google kept coming up with things like laundry bags. :) You should add that to the links above, too.
