In this video I went to my scrap wood pile to find some old bits of scrap wood, there are so many bits in here but I found some old blanks that had been in here for years to make some colorful arty boxes with some cool inlays, one with a amazing crayon inlay and the other using some diamond stone inlay. check out this video its a good one. Trust Me! 😀

Do you have any more of that dehydration crystal stuff? Maybe experiment with drying out other things besides flowers or larger plants and flowers and then putting them in resin and turning them. Or seeing if you can do a spiral turn in either wood or resin or both..... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Trying to get a water effect from the resin on the inside and then drill a whole and turn a bowl so you can put a small fish tank pump into it and make a fountain. You could even go as far as to make the “stones/pebbles” from resin. Probably silly but just an idea. Oh and put a light in it somehow 🥰

I'm surviving summer in the South Eastern US, there's a pandemic so I'm alone most of the time, so I could watch you sharpen a pile of pencils while you waffled on about anything but the news and feel happy just to be hanging out with you a little while. But actually, I do like the little projects as much as the big ones. I especially liked the pot with the burl inlay, really beautiful little pieces. Thanks for the video, Nick ♥♥

@Deborah Shaw Thank you for your kind response. I didn't really think that part through and should edit it out. It's not that I don't have food or can't get food really, its that my old man still seems able to forget I have allergies and intolerances to a few common ingredients and often buys more things I can't eat than I can. Stores still close ridiculously early as if COVID is the boogyman and will get them when the sun goes down so that too of course limits access to anything including food. There are a few free giveaways in town we go to now and then because they offer more than food like alcohol, not the kind you drink, and cleaning supplies we still can't get from major department store chains here in town. Thank you again for your kindness, and know I, and many of us, are grateful for people like you who are genuinely trying to help during the pandemic.♥

@@SixRavenEight I understand completely. I'm diabetic, and so is my husband, he's even on insulin, and alcohol wipes are nowhere to be found. We had to resort to special ordering them through our pharmacy. It cost a lot more, but we need them whenever we test, or when he takes his shots. I too have allergies. I can't eat or touch anything in the melon, pumpkin, squash, cucumber family unless it's been cooked first. And I'm allergic to aloe, detergents, deodorants, aerosol propellant, wool, and most fragrances. Fortunately, none of my allergies cause anaphylaxis, an asthma attack or hives is the worst I have to contend with. I can sympathize with you where finding allergen free products is concerned. So many products have aloe, detergents, deodorants, and fragrances in them that I have to be very careful when I'm out. You didn't say what you are allergic to, or how bad those allergies are, but I can imagine that the Idea of eating out, or even ordering in, is totally off the table for you. Maybe making a list of things you can eat, and that you like, will help your dad remember your special dietary needs when he goes shopping, that's what I do whenever my husband goes to the store for cleaning products and such.

I have wanted someone to do a video such as this for EVER. Thank you so much sir. You have made my day. God Bless and stay safe 💖💖💖...when I first got my PC I found Ebay. I did crafts and I would use wood scraps my husband had in his garage. He said I wasn’t going to make much. It was in 1997. I started making $500 a month and loved every second of it. Thank you, Thank you. I do wish I had had your videos at the time too. I probably could have made more money. I worked full time too. So the $500 was extra fun to get.

I am trying to learn woodturning by watching these videos from many turners, learning styles & techniques, there are a lot of talented turners out there. I inherited my Dad's old lathe, a bit archaic but I'm just learning. Even though I started watching for information on turning I really like your channel because of it's variety & I think you are a bit kooky (I like that). I have watched all the way back about 5 years worth & I have to say your stuff in the last 2 years has greatly improved, in talent & entertainment value. I love your restoration projects, I have done woodworking for almost 50 years, including restoration, so I really enjoy your work there. You're very creative & entertaining, not as dry as other turners. Stay funky & diversive, love you, Nick!

I would love to see a video where you explain the tools you’re using as you go. Dingbat that I am, I asked my husband if I could use his lathe ( it’s a metal lathe) and he explained that I couldn’t and bought me a small beginner lathe . ( I might have mentioned I was going to take over his garage...lmao) I would definitely like to see you explain what tools do what and how . You are much more fun than the boring videos I have been learning from so far. Where DO you get so many colored pencils? I do so love those projects and would like to try one of my own eventually. And and and...the pots came out beautiful also.

I really like the wood turning videos, especially when you explain what you're doing. These pots had just the right amount of funkiness. The burl/Easy Inlay one came out awesome.

Nick - you are so talented. Taking bits and pieces of scraps and making two such lovely little lidded pots. Thanks. PS - You are getting better looking with age, your wife is so lucky.

Loving the colour job on the dragon tails! I left mine un-coloured, but the grey took over completely!!! I really like the 'opalized' look on the larger lid, it is VERY appealing, and a very nice finish to both

A crayon melt/apoxy layering might be interesting. Like having the color fade out and making something 3D out of it. You could even use the crayon shavings to add pop up details!

The inlay in the big pot looks like opal! It has that same kind of effect where it changes colors based on the light and viewing angle. Very cool!

Yes, I love the funky delightfully creative items you make. Jars, pots, bowels, boxes, all with lids are among my favorites. Woodturning is great, resin is great, you are great. I like the way you restore pieces, you give them a brand new life. Your walking stick was/is beautiful. What about seasonally themed candle holders? Wall art made out of whatever you think would be fun to use. The joyous ideas in your head are there Nick, whatever you produce we will be happy to watch. Hugs from Canada.

I'm glad you have another channel, but honestly, your videos are not the same without hearing you talk or seeing you be the funky guy you are. Alot of us, your fans, would love seeing you do just about anything. Would you so anything with crystals or geodes? I think you have the skill to pull it off. Your woodturning skills are outstanding and I think you could make something truly funkadelic!
