coach, that was by far the BEST advertisement for any grappling dummy I've ever seen! seriously! I've always been like way better to grapple with a partner at class but you just demo'd the use case where a dummy is better than a live partner!

One of my favorite positions…at Six Blades we call this the Negative Guard. You can be rolled by the bottom guy if you don’t use the bottom leg as a kickstand as insurance against the bridge.

Reminds me of a technique Mario Sperry used to teach, but you added a bunch of cool details I haven't really seen before.

Hi Coach. I am practioner in far East country called South Korea. I learned Ghost Escape on your channel and after watching your related videos carefully, I've been unstoppable so far with your Ghost escape! However, there's someone on KZbin who teaches Ghost to counter Escape to North South Choke, and actually looks quite intimidating. Is there any way to break through that defense?

I saw the video... it doesn't look like a valid defense to me. If the person doing the ghost is skilled with the application, I doubt it will be effective.

The problem with this pass is that it opens up a back-take. Trust me, as it is one oy my highest percentage back takes. When you go reverse, there is no tight connection to my bottom leg. There is a degree of timing on this, but basically, as you go to make the resvere set out, I frame against your back which disallows you to occupy the space by my chest and shoulders, While framing, I retract my bottom leg and slide it up to where I wedge it into your butt where it is making contact with the mat, once my bottom leg wedge is in place, I take my framing arm and pull the far lat which helps me then propel myself to the back, my top leg makes the first hook, I lean over and then insert the bottom leg. As I type this out I realize how complicated describing BJJ is. But all im saying is I take peoples backs allllll the time with this guard pass attempt, and No, not on just white and blue belts. Im a purple, and I have used this technique all the way up to black.

💯… there is definitely two sides to this. Just as you are good at taking backs, there are people out there good at passing guard. Ultimately it’s a stalemate when the moves are played to perfection. One mistake by either player can lose the position. That’s jiu-jitsu!

He probably gets under your hips and escapes his bottom leg... it's tough when they are better than you. Keep developing! Don't give up because someone stops you!

For sure , I’m working on Octopus game now myself. Octopus is the only effective counter I know to the strong negative guard game.

@@anthonygerber8261 it works pretty well against the other students except the black belts, they never allow me to be at this position to begin with😂, except with the head coach who let me work.... and then caught me with the octopus
