This is what I do too. Honestly, it’s a great system and I can’t imagine them coming up with a better way to filter. We especially use this at camp. One guy gets water duty and he takes a second bag and just keeps topping off the hanging bag. Easily do 10 liters in 20 minutes.
@BackpackingwithBuckley Жыл бұрын
I agree. It's really simple and requires very little extra weight!

Just a little FYI. If you bust the loop on the Cnoc bag from the weight of the water, Cnoc won’t replace it under their warranty. Been there. Done that. In my opinion they need to beef up that loop for just this application.
@BackpackingwithBuckley Жыл бұрын
Perhaps they will learn! Sucks to hear that the loop breaks under the weight of the water! That stinks.

The Speed Hook is pretty cool. Two years ago I made a shoulder mounted water bottle out of a one pound peanut jar. I found an old Nalgene bottle top that had a plastic tube going through a grommet in the middle of the top. Unfortunately, the diameter was correct for the peanut jar, but the threads were not. I took the peanut jar top and drilled a hole in it, inserted the grommet and a longer length of flexible tubing I had around, and stuck it in the bottle. The fit was so tight that, unless I practically stood on my head, I lost only a few drops between fill-ups. I used it for a 275 mile AT section hike in '21, and a 210 miler last year. For my thruhike attempt I added a bite valve. To gravity filter, I just stick the tubing from the bottle onto the outlet nipple on the Sawyer filter. I use the same CNOC Vecto bag as yours. Thanks again, "Tinker" AT 2003 hopeful.
