@@runnertv1 It works outside. I tried it with my mobile connection. You just have to add a new console on the Ciaki app and on the line "host" you have to type in your IP address which your internet provider has given to you or best your DNS address if you have already created one. After that you have to forward the remote play ports on your router to your PS5 / PS4 console and you're good to go :)

All these years I was put off by Sony or Microsofts official remote play implementations because of the latency and artifacting problems on screen... but man.. this Chiaki is a game changer for me. @@trentellis5199 Much to my surprise it feels like almost no lag at all. Even when I'm upstairs and across the home from my router. There's also no pixelated degradation. It seems to be more consistent then GamePass/Xbox Remote play, which I was also impressed with. Worth noting that I do have my consoles plugged into ethernet, and I have 400mbps speeds

For the record, Sony's Remote Play works over 802.11a or 802.11g. In order to go back to a wireless that can't support Remote Play you have to go back to 802.11b. Remote Play uses about 10Mbps bandwidth for 720P.

Remote play uses about 12Mbps, 1080P is probably about 16-18 if it's anything like Steam's Remote Play, my old PS4 won't stream 1080P. 802.11a and above can stream just fine, 802.11 or 802.11b are the only ones slow enough to cause a problem.

The Account ID is a bit borked at the moment, but as a work-around via Reddit: "The site seems to be down. I had the same issue yesterday but I was able to find a solution. First you need to turn off 2 factor identification for your psn account. You can turn it back on once you're done. Then install python and pycharm on your pc. Then open pycharm and delete the sample script that appears when opening a new project. You then need to copy the python script in pycharm and click run. After that its the same thing as the trinket website. Take the url in a browser, login and when it shows redirect, copy that url in pycharm and click enter. You should get your base64 psn ID then. I have no experience in programming but was able to manage this. Good luck!" It worked for me as of 11/2/2022

I never cared for the way that Sony has implemented remote play. I haven’t used it since the PS4, and it only worked using a dummy account while the controller paired with the console if I remembered correctly. I have multiple consoles for game sharing, and things can get pretty weird with remote play only wanting to access the primary console. Great content.

I ended up having an issue with chiaki where after getting coms to work so I could play call of duty with the boys while the wife watched her shows, my mic would no longer work on the steam deck. Did not matter if I used a USB or 3.5mm headset or even no headset at all, thought my steam deck had an issue until I got coms working in desktop mode. The fix was to reset the deck to factory, only took like 2 minutes but re-downloading all my games sucked.

I got it to work by running the python script in windows. I installed python and then pycharm. Ran pycharm. Then, I replaced the sample python script with the one found under the "online" link. Hit Run. Entered "y" to download the needed modules. The rest of the steps are the same as the video. Hope this helps someone else.

You can also try a powerline passthrough adapter. In most cases it will be more stable and faster than wifi, especially in a big house with thick walls. The only problem is cutting electrical interference from devices (major culprits being fridge/freezers, tumble drier and microwaves, etc.). Once you get going you will understand and know the culprits and be able to mitigate. Mind you even with interference, I find it's still faster than wifi in my case. EDIT: Referring to Ethernet for people who have PS device or PC far from a router or modem.

Hello! If you can see this. The easy online version didn’t work for me. Thanks to a grip of other KZbinrs I was able to like use python to run the same script on my deck. So I installed miniconda then installed requests then was able to get the raw script from the links and then make it executable then run it and get my id then was able to do the rest and it plays really great. I know this sounds like a lot and I messed up a bunch of times but I hope one of y’all decides to give it a shot. I didn’t know getting a steam deck I would be like sorta learning python hahahahahhaa. Ty for the tutorial. Hope it gets easier in the future!

Man you're make it hard to wait for the 2nd gen Deck. 😁 I wonder if the screen is big enough to play though. The OLED switch is just bearable to me while the OG switch is too small. Call me old I guess hehe. This is why I got the Tab S8 Ultra. 😉 Edit: And just like that I just put in my reserve for one! 😁 I'll see if my mind changes later this year when I get an email from them. I'm over 40 and I find it to be within my range of readable, but it depends on the game, some games have small text that you cannot scale up, luckily the Deck comes with a built in Magnification option for the instances when I need to read something tiny. So far though I've found the best use cases for it are games that feel like they were designed with handheld gaming in mind, like side-scrollers or action games, where reading isn't as integral to gameplay. I would say if you're looking to play something text heavy like an RTS then the v1 Deck might not work out for you.
