People like you are the reason I love this game so much. Yeah I enjoy playing and watching but when people have dedication, and enjoy breaking down a 30 second clip into a 10 minute video demonstrating the complexity puts a smile on my face.. Keep doing videos like this, they’re the best thing ever.

Hbox laughing when Wizzy upaired into pivot upair cracked me up. Say what you want about Hbox, but he often acknowledges when his opponent made a sick conversion. I laughed so hard when N0ne jablocked him or when Hax beat him in Genesis

to add on to the smash turn upair after the first reverse upair: if he just wanted to land one more hit after the first upair he could do a lot of easier options(ie. reverse upair-->ftilt). but doing the smash turn upair allows him to potentially go even further with another upair, or maybe knee if hbox di'd the 2nd upair in a way that allowed for it.

Little known factoid- smash turns in IASA frames go from a 1 frame window to a 2 frame window. You are correct about the polling system. SO upon L-canceled moves, in the IASA frames, a smash turn has to be executed in (at worst) 1/60th of a second. IASA frames are everywhere. SO - options like jab (to cover early frames of missed tech) -> dash back jc grab (to cover tech roll OR wakeup roll ON REACTION) are much easier... than waiting and trying to dash back. Or use UCF...

Really great video. Love the editing. One note though regarding sound effects: I like the polish of having a chime or other sound effects for every bullet point, but I think the ones you chose have *too much bass* on them, and you might benefit more from a lighter, less heavy tone. Heavy bass sounds tend to distract listeners by overpowering the mix with your music and voice. I watched with headphones on, and it took me a moment to realize where the bass thumps were coming from, and in turn I began missing important bullet points. Just a thought to help make sure folks are getting the most out of your content. Superb and informative video though.

Thanks so much for the comment bones! Some of the SFX choices were to keep consistency with the first episode, but I also didn't want to overload sections with sounds if I felt the animation could go without it. I can definitely see what you're saying for SFX though, and I'll see if it's something I can further adjust in future videos! Appreciate the support and I hope to hear from you in the comments again soon!

I think sound effects that are less stereo-focused would help too. That first bassey sound sounded like it shifted between my ears (wearing apple earbuds). Since the rest of the video seemed pretty stable mono-ish sound, the weirdly placed panning of that sound defo scared me.

I never thought I'd live to see the day a Melee tutorial would properly describe a situation as utilizing "crouch cancelling AND ASDI down". Brings a tear to my eye... Unfortunately, the turnaround was actually a tilt turn, not a smash turn. I imagine Wizzy actually wanted to dash uair, but dashing too early (or getting unlucky polling if it was vanilla) gave him a tilt turn and he jumped the frame before his dash from tilt turn would have started.
@Bones06 жыл бұрын
@K D He got launched by the up air and immediately DIed back into the ground, entering the standard 4-frame landing animation. This is only possible with ASDI down.
@Divinate16 жыл бұрын
If it was a tilt turn you'd very obviously see the turnaround frames, which you don't
@Bones06 жыл бұрын
@@Divinate1 Gameplay footage drops frames all the time. If you go frame by frame you can clearly see the second frame of tilt turn.
