Mickey Andrade , you can restore softness and pliability back into old JDM plastic by soaking them in Aerospace 303 Protectant. You can get them anywhere and they work. Aerospace 303 Protectant is what car restorers use to restore old brittle plastic and rubber. They are advertised to restore and protect rubber, but they also work on plastic. Pour a quart of Aerospace 303 into a container. Soak every plastic piece you want to restore into it for as long as you can. When you are done, pour the Aerospace 303 back into the original container for use in the future. I have had very good luck restoring old faded plastic and make them last for decades.
@sonderambition40775 жыл бұрын
castamir would this work for vinyl pieces as well such as the center arm rest? And if not what would?
@hammertimee7775 жыл бұрын
@@sonderambition4077 Yes, it works on vinyl, plastic, rubber, leather. Use it on brand new parts to keep them like new forever with annual application. Or restore old parts by soaking them in Aerospace 303 protectant for days. Let the ingredients get deep into the plastic, vinyl, leather, rubber.

Just a heads up on your windshield install. Windshields urethane should not be applied to painted surface. In a collision the paint could release from the primer below and the windshield could come loose. In the case like this where all the old urethane has been removed the proper prep of the pinch weld would be to grind it back down to bare metal, just wear your urethane bed goes, then apply a windshield primer, we use Dow Betaprime 5504G, then apply your urethane to that and then the windshield. Great build though, you guys are crazy talented!

Will you guys be using the na transmission? Would really recommend going to a turbo e153 over the s54. Holds up to power much better. Also as for that shifter I would recommend getting rid of that and going to a TRD or C's style short shifter. That one is too short from personal experience and made it harder to get into gear actually. Shifter bearings and redline mt90 as well really help the transmission feel.
@allthingsfast23755 жыл бұрын
yep, they will blow up the s54 with that power level. just a matter of when depending on how you drive the car. Also the s54 doesn't really connect to the 2gr whereas a late e153 literally bolts right on

James Hartline Ahhhhhh naaaaww ... ATS does 3sgte swaps all year since it opened in 99 lol So I’m not sure what you are you talking about, son ... not everyone is cheap and goes the Honda way. The 3sgte still sounds better than any swap available imo. 300/380whp on a 3sgte is enough for that mid engine base. Anything beyond that, is just sloppy since traction is ridiculous with the sw20 chassis.
@M5JamesE395 жыл бұрын
@@hushg2000 It's OK, not everyone likes to spend more to go slower either lol. Supercharged V6 sounds better IMHO. Granted mine being almost 500hp is plenty, but I'm still looking forward to more when I upgrade my header, turbo and calling it a day @ 600+/- without needing to even open the engine. I've had a J-Spec swapped MR2 as well...it got boring and slow after a while. Mine handles great...BC Racing coilovers, poly bushings and Pilot Super Sports.
