How do you handle dealing with all the different size bracelets? Do you carry all those sizes at your shows or do you carry a few sizes and then offer to do a custom job for the customer?

Go to our Fool4peppers website. Under "Store", I have a bracelet size chart. I'd say a child would be 2.25 or smaller. More females wear a Medium Plus on my chart.

I think all that work can be avoided if you invested in a hole saw

why do you ''scrape'' the wood and not do the cuttingtecnique
@fool4peppers

I assuming you are asking why I didn't drill out the center with a large fostner bit. This is just a different technique. Some people might not want to spend $20 for a drill bit.

fool4peppers Looks like you answered the wrong guy, he asked why you scraped instead of cut.

I saw that too and I think you can do either and you can also take that easy wood tool and put it on a 45 degree angle to the wood and get a very nice cutting action. But still not as clean as a skew and spindle gouge on the edges imho

I use two holesaws 2 3/4" and the other 3 1/2" I cut the larger out first then cut the smaller. I put it on my chuck tighten it by expanding chuck to the inside of blank. I turn the outside on one side then remount it to turn the other side.

His name is Rick Herrell. Great guy and quick shipping You might have to create a signon for the IAP website. Under the Vendor catalogs at the top of the page, open it and the title is "Custom Made". He has several items that I would recommend for turners. Tell him you saw it on my videos on KZbin. If you can't find it, go to my webpage and send me a message. I'll send you a direct link.

It is an after market tool rest made by Rick Herrell in Pilot Mtn, NC. You can contact him on the IAP website. Look under the vendor catalog at the top of the page. The title of his post is "Custom Made". He does great work.

i like your work. im found your channel because im trying to make large earrings. (yes my girlfriend has those large ear holes 7/8" diam!!) the difficulty i have in making them for her, is the part that touching her skin is on the inside, which means the finish on the inside has to be very smooth 800+ grit do you have a trick for easily accessing the inside of you bracelets? the first earring i made, i used my chuck to hold from the inside, cleaned and shaped both sides and then i was just lucky enough to hold the earring around the outside (without swapping out the jaws on my chuck :) ) to sand the inside. the problem with this is, it leaves me very little room to get in there and make it nice, without hitting my chuck with the tool. do you have any suggestions???

Very nice video. I have seen that expanding chuck in PSI catalogue but never saw the need for one but #cxc4 is now on my wish list. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the video. Very helpful info. Wouldn't have been a little extra wisdom to pull up the tailstock while doing the outside roughing? I always make it a habit to, although it might be over-precaution.
