Thanks for showing. This is my new years resolution learning bespoke pen making.

It can be a little pricey but it is worth it once you start making pens. Regards, Bob

Hi Bob hay I was telling a friend of mind about your kitless pen 🖊 I don't he understands totally what I'm trying to tell him. But we talking about making a pen out of stainless steel and Aluminum. He just came a cross metal lathe its an industrial type he was running that same type of lathe when he was in the Navy. Anyway thanks for listening.

The pens made completely of metal are really cool. I’ve seen a few and attempted to make one or two. If you know what you’re doing with the lathe, like your friend does, I’m sure you can make an incredible pen. Regards, Bob

That looks great, Bob! One of these days I'll get lathe time. Right now I'm working on blank/show prep as VA is coming soon and when I'm not working on blanks, life is happening.

Are you going to Chicago?

Another awesome looking pen. I notice you have pretty much put your roughing gouge away once the skew skills were mastered. I started using the skew more because of a tip seen on one of your videos.

I will occasionally use the RG for truing a blank but I have found the skew a better turning tool from my perspective. Regards, Bob

Can you add some details about the blank? Beautiful!

Hello Jay, All I know is it’s Alumilite. I picked it up at a pen show two years ago. I wish I knew more. Regards, Bob

I really like the color. What was the liquid you brushed on before drilling?
@RJBWoodTurner Жыл бұрын
Hello Angi, That was mineral oil, I use it to help keep the blank cool while drilling. Regards, Bob

What are you using to lubricate the blank when drilling and cutting threads?

I use Mineral Oil. I get it at Walmart and it’s cheap. Regards, Bob

Do you sell these?
@RJBWoodTurner Жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking, I do not make them to sell or take commissions. Occasionally I will make a pen and put it on Etsy. I prefer to make for the enjoyment of making pens alone. It is truly my hobby. Regards, Bob

Hi Bob as much as I enjoy your videos turning all types of pens and the information you give while turning. My disappointment is you have cut any talking in this video telling us what you are doing and tools you are using you may have a good reason doing so. So if you get a new subscriber being a learner to woodturning how does he know what to do. This is also my my pet hate with more and more wood turners not talking while videoing.

Hello Charles, There were several videos where I was sick and didn’t have much of a voice so you may find a couple minimal talking videos. Don’t worry, I’ll be making more of this style pen once the CHAOS Collaboration is complete. Regards, Bob
