There was an update that gave us the ability to combine gems of the same type together. This means I can finally use up some of the billion gems laying around my ground. Since I had a mountain of gold just sitting there the choice was obvious. I set about mining some more gold while also trying to turn that mountain into a single bar. Carrying the smelter around was the easiest way to clean up that gold. Once that was done I picked up the Rubies one by one until I had a ton of them in the machine. From there it was some simple blacksmithing to produce an incredibly valuable necklace. Hyroneer gameplay with my commentary as always!

So apparently there's a setting in the game called "Save dirt chunks" or something, and if you uncheck that and then reload the game, it clears all the dirt you've dug up. obviously I know you personally want to get all the goodies out of it, but that does help the framerate incredibly, and does half the work for you. You can also use the magnet to pick up all the gems at once and put them in a bucket, then carefully pour the bucket into the compressor, which will then compress all of them in one shot and give you three super gems of the various colors. picking them out one by one was just hurting yourself. same idea works with the other stuff too, for gold and iron and all. magnet>bucket>smelter. ALSO if you accidentally put gold or other stuff in the compressor, it doesn't do anything to them, meaning magnetting a bunch of shit into the compressor will actually sort out what isn't a gem for you, making cleanup a little easier too. compressor doesn't work on power crystals, they still gotta be smelted. also also don't put any expensive necklaces on the golden head, currently there is no way to remove said items from the golden head, so they will be lost forever and unsellable until that is fixed. things I learned from someone else's video lol

Magnet doesn't work so well with the giant nuggets and raw gems he's working with. You can get maybe ten at a time quivering awkwardly against one another with a good chance of pushing ones out of the effect radius with every move you make. And that's assuming they don't just explode when you let the button go.

Couple quick tips: you can rotate and place power gems or smelt them into bars that last much longer, the gem compressor automatically separates the gem types for you do just dump them all in at once.
