You have covered so many points that other videos completely pass up. I have turned a whole two pens, and many of the issues I encountered you talked about. Thank you!

This is the best video on how to turn and prepare inlay blanks. I have seen several on youtube and none of these compare to this one in presentation and "how to and not to" tips. Everyone should check out this video. Great video Tim.

Tim, excellent excellent vid! Learned a ton. Mainly I came looking for skew techniques but also learned about rolling the ends of the blank, sweet spots, bigger is better and not wet sanding with the micro mesh. Awesome tips and tricks! Why would 13 people give this a thumbs down?

Great video. Thought it would be too long to watch but went fast with going step to step. Been turning pens for years and doing my first Aviator Wings inlay and didn't want to mess it up.

Great instructions on how to use, even if you don't buy any of the blanks the company is selling.

Mike, you can find pre-drilled blanks on ebay, but you are going to have to either find a drill press on get a chuck for your lathe to drill your own blanks. you can get a table top press for under $100. I think it is too difficult to do it by hand and it is much too slow. It sounds like you are a new turner like me, but I would be lost without my press. good luck to you!

Much better detail on how to prep the tiny pieces for turning, which gouges to choose, and how to finish it w CA glue. BUT... WHY DIDN’T YOU CHANGE THE BUSHINGS FROM THE METAL ONES TO SPECIAL PLASTIC ONES??

Just getting into turning. You said the end pieces in the lathe were both 'dead centers'. Is that right? They look different but they are both called the same thing?
@billmarcus72574 жыл бұрын
Given how thin the barrel and little pieces are, how do you know when to stop sanding to prevent sanding thru the pieces and into the brass tube inside- that’s my big worry on expensive kits!!!!

Did you finish the pens with damp micro mesh or mirka pads after the CA glue was sanded e paper?

Hi Mike. We do pre-drill blanks, but for the time involved we do add $1.25 to the cost of the blanks, per blank, that you request be pre-drilled. Just give us a call to have it arranged.

Hello - Just found your site and the prices are good. I was wondering if you sell pre drilled blanks. I only see pre-drilled antlers. I don't have a drill press and it seems to be difficult to drill by hand.(I just started about 3 weeks ago) Everything I have is pre drilled. Let me know what you search for if possible. Thank you!
