What a beautiful soul you are Katt and a wonderful story teller. I don't spin but I was fascinated watching this episode. I get the same joy from my knitting but I'm still not going to ever steek haha 🤩 and probably not brioche either 🤩

Such a beautiful project! Everything about the process was just a joy to watch 😊I recently bought a rigid heddle loom, but I've not unpacked it yet because I'm concerned that it'll be overwhelming, and it'll just sit gathering dust while I overthink about attempting my first project. But hearing you talk about how you approached this project with an open and experimental mindset, and hearing you say that you actually enjoyed the process of sorting things out when the warping went a bit wrong to begin with - that actually makes me feel kind of liberated and less overwhelmed. Thank you for showing us stressed out overthinkers that there is a better way 😊

I love everything about this! Your fearlessness, enthusiasm, and embracing "mistakes" is so refreshing and inspiring! I really have to psyche myself up to weave with my handspun, but you've got me inspired to go for it and just see what happens. I can be hyper-critical at the loom, but I'm always amazed by the way the fabric transforms after washing. Its just magic!

The color is stunning. I love natural colors the most. Your woven fabric is beautiful and I also like the pin used on the shawl. Take care.

Thank you so much for sharing your joy! I love seeing someone so happy and excited about a new adventure ✨ I got really exciting about spinning myself 🤭 I remember having made myself a cardboard loom in primary school and making tiny rugs ☺️

Weaving is soo much fun! Especially with handspun. What a lovely road and video, thank you for sharing ❤ i started warping up my loom, this morning, with the help of my daughter (home for a night and day from uni). Because my loom is smaller width than yours ( because of my disability, I cannot stretch my arms wide), we had to warp a 7 meter long warp. The yarn I spun made me really proud. I made a muslin trouser from the link I sent you on the last video and it fits fine, so I am going for it. Love!

What a wonderful episode! As a new weaver myself, I totally understand how gratifying it is to make fabric!! Now I wish I knew how to spin…🙃 Sooooo many things to learn….it was nice seeing your excitement, and what a gorgeous result!
@kattweaver11 ай бұрын
There are so many things to learn and as we all seem to know, the more you know...the more you want to know and try 🤭 It's so gorgeous seeing the yarn turn to fabric! I'm hoping to try some fabric with my spindle spun yarn soon - I think that's a great way into spinning if you are tempted 🤭💚

The joy and intenionality imbued into your projects is so inspiring to me. This might be a weird thing to say but... I can't tell you how many of the adjectives you use to describe the fiber, yarn and garments are now part of my vocabulary and mindset. You show us a different way to approach these crafts and it speaks to me on a way i can't even describe. Thank you. Also The shawl is very very beautiful👌. Thank you for sharing this with us ♥️

Ohhh thank you so much, that means so much to hear, I do apologise for not having a wider vocabulary 🤭😅 but I am so glad that we can share joy and inspiration through this platform, I get to learn and hopefully inspire but in turn the reflections you provide do help guide me so much 💚

How wonderful to see the start of your journey into weaving. Particularly as I plan to buy a loom myself very soon! I love there are so many ways to use our fibers. And thank goodness to you and other KZbinrs out there who inspire us endlessly!

Ohh that's wonderfully exciting, what type of loom are you hoping to invest in? I can't believe honestly how versatile the rigid heddle is and yet so simple!
@lindas596411 ай бұрын
@@kattweaver It will be a rigid heddle as well but I’m waiting until we go on a trip to Tennessee in a couple of months as there is a big weaving/spinning store there. I need a wheel too! And a carder! but can’t decide between hand carders or drum. I’ve been working with a drop spindle which tbh I love and am not overly motivated to get the wheel just yet but I’m only spinning enough for small projects. Right now I’m trying to spin some roughly carded Nutiden fiber and it’s a hot mess so I really do need a carder lol

so cool to see you experimenting with a new craft. And your shawl looks outstanding!! I myself got a spinning wheel for christmas and have been having a brilliant time learning to spin. I've been doing lots of mini spins as I try different things out and experiment learning the limits of a new craft is so much fun!

Beautiful work and loved seeing your process. Have you ever tried steaming your singles? It is magic to see the twist even out and the singles plump up using this method. Also love the colors in your cardigan- curious about the yarn you used? Thanks for sharing your creativity and passion for all things fiber!
