So, yes I did! 🤦 But the good thing is, I have this camera riser for DJI Ronin S and fitted well for small rig (a7s3) and attached with the Sony a6000 instead of the a73. @AlexPerri5 жыл бұрын
It absolutely did! Like I said in the video, it's not the most important reason to rig out your camera, but how you are perceived is still pretty important in this industry, even though it's unfortunate. You should see the looks I used to get when I'd show up to a client shoot with just the a6300 and lens. Even though the rig doesn't improve the quality of the image (other than helping reduce micro jitters), and my clients are always happy with my image quality and end result, it just makes people feel so much more comfortable when you show up to set all rigged out. Anyway, I'm rambling now haha

I believe they will! What’s more important is that you plug in your camera’s dummy battery into the appropriate power output on the v-mount battery adapter. So you’d have to check to make sure what the maximum power input for your camera would be and then just plug it in the right slot on the adapter.

Yeah, but let's be serious.let's be serious PLEASE. PLEASE.. .Who would hire someone to come on set as a DP with a Sony 6300?? That's 8 bit 420 color . If you were a DP and were getting corporate and commercial jobs you wouldn't ever be shooting with an $800 camera. What for?? .Check out Staffmeup/Mandy look under cinematographers....and let me know if you see anyone using an old Sony APC mirroless....lol. Unless you are very lucky - or just happened to have connections that you didn't have to go out and earn- so that you get jobs no matter what. But of course in that case wouldn't matter what you have as a camera anyway--- plus --you would have the money to buy professional gear if you actually have connections for gigs.. If you're going to be hired to do camera by merit and not connections- you are certainly going to need something higher up than that. Your producers/directors will know cameras better than you....Otherwise everyone wouldn't be going out and buying C300s, FS7, Reds, - -Hey, let's all get an $800 special, a rig, a batt, and call it a day! lol.

Robert, you realize you’re talking about very specific types of productions, right? There are a TON of people who shoot videos for businesses, both local and even bigger, that don’t have whole production crews. I don’t do huge productions. I’m a solo video marketer that works a variety of businesses and companies and not one of them has asked me about the camera I use. They see my work, they buy into my vision and how I can help them out. I come up with the whole plan for their production, I script and plan it out, I shoot and edit it. The jobs I’ve had range from product videos, to promo videos, to interviews. And all of them have been shot on my A6300. All of them have been paid jobs. And all of them have been happy with the quality. Not every professional video shooter does big budget shoots with huge production crews. And my KZbin channel isn’t really geared toward people like that. It’s geared toward content creators, and people who are starting out who are looking to potentially take their hobby or passion more seriously and start making money with it. And you can absolutely get more than decently paying jobs by using an $800 camera. It really isn’t all about the camera man. Am I encouraging everyone to go out and buy an A6300? No, I’m not. It’s the camera I have, and it’s the camera that works for me. Do I want to upgrade one day soon? Sure. But I’m going to show people what I have and how I make things work for me, to hopefully inspire other people.
@robertleger49864 жыл бұрын
@@AlexPerri Oh..ok...I get it. I know it's not about the camera....but figured you worked for production companies...and none of those work with that type of gear and of course it's never just the camera there either. A lot of DPs work with a ton of very expensive gear - where they get the money is beyond me...Is there a huge obvious difference in quality between a Red and a consumer Sony if the content is shot and lit properly? Not as much as most would think. .f you work for retail clients - sure, they wouldn't care or know the difference as long as it looks good. Figured that by kitting out an inexpensive camera, you probably worked high end big team stuff...my bad. !
@AlexPerri4 жыл бұрын
@@robertleger4986 if things are lit and shot properly, there will be less of a difference but a cinema grade camera will definitely still have a different quality to it. It all comes down to what you can do when you're editing the footage and how far you can push things. The biggest differentiation will always be the lenses though. I shot a short film last year, and people were blown away to find out not only was I basically a one man production crew (I had two other people help but I basically directed, lit and shot everything myself), but that I shot the entire thing exclusively on my A6300. And everyone always asked if I used any cine lenses or Art lenses and the answer was no. I used my Sigma 30mm 1.4 for 99% of the shots and my Sigma 16mm 1.4 for one or two shots. But in my eyes those two lenses are fantastic for the price and do a great job. Could I have taken it even further if I used cine lenses or even anamorphic lenses? Sure. But I was still able to pull off something I'm very proud of from a production standpoint using my "cheap" A6300. It definitely wasn't perfect, but everything I'm not happy with in terms of quality came down to only having 3 days to film the short and having to rush through things.
@robertleger49864 жыл бұрын
@@AlexPerri For sure...the hardest thing in this industry is getting jobs....any kind of gig. Some cities /areas more so than others. Once you have the opportunity to shoot something interesting....it's half the battle. I just was under the impression that 420 or 8 bit color is hard to push ..compared to the 10 bit boxes. But no doubt .If you put in the letterbox bars and soup up the color a bit helps a bit with a look that pops. Thx
