I’m an old lady from montana. Not exactly what you’d expect to be inspired by a big city girl. But I have been so delighted to use so many of your ideas. They touch my heart and I feel so happy! My mom grew up in a town with a population of 10,000. You have 469K and counting, and still the negative comments cause you to rethink how you share. I see more and more influencers address how negative comments impact them emotionally and professionally. The only opinion that matters is really your own, you are very generous to share, this is your channel, you an post what you want, and have put an incredible amount of time into doing every project and segment. I imagine that cities of almost 500K have a populace that harbours people with nothing constructive to say as well. You and your team are talented and hard working, and are under no obligation to share (FOR FREE) the work that you do. Thank you for being consistent and fun to watch.

I was lucky. My husband thought in numbers & words. I think in pictures and colors. After a few years he just said do what you want because I know I’ll like it. I am not a frilly person or a trendy person so he knew it wasn’t going to be all ruffles or something crazy. I love what you did with the little chest. I always need a small chest with drawers next to my bed for a glass of water, lamp, place to put my glasses and a book or two. I also have a place for a few little gifts from my granddaughter. She always brings me something from their vacations and has excellent taste. A piece of Marano glass from Italy or a small crystal piece from Washington DC. They make me smile every morning and before I go to sleep.

@@Vickiboe592 Yeah, trying to understand the human brain and why ideas/opinions are the way they are can be an awfully dizzying practice. 😅 Intention aside though, I always tend to find it's best to first try and receive the idea/opinion from the position of the recipient and see if it would be misinterpreted/misconstrued in any way. Especially when it comes to an intimate/vulnerable space like one's own home/personal life.

I think this video should be pinned somewhere as an example of relationship building. It’s so great to see Noah taking steps to include himself, and to see Alexandra with a little bit of relief, a little bit of yay and a little bit of “this might be uncomfortable, but OK”… I love your makeovers and the energy I can borrow from them. I like moody colours, but still love your playful energy. The critics are probably sitting on their couches assessing the world, but afraid to actually do anything. Sorry for the essay. If you can forge on regardless, I really enjoy your uploads🤩❤️

Noah shared some great insight, how sometimes one person may feel as if they're being ignored, but they don't really know what they WANT and just shoot down anything they DON'T want. Noah seemed kind of reticent in past videos, but seemed much more enthusiastic in this one and hearing him be like "I'm going to look on pinterest" was really cute and encouraging. The word that kept coming up was "cozy", and I think you guys really nailed it. The original design was nice and peaceful, but could come off as a little sterile? The refresh (paint colour, the throw, the dresser) adds some colour and warmth and texture and is still quite clean, but definitely "cozy". Also, I love that bent wood sculpture, I'm glad it still has a place somewhere in the room.

I had to pause the video immediately and post this comment because it was a lightbulb moment for me! When Noah explained his feelings about just knowing what he didn't like, compared to looking for ideas of what he did, that really helped me see my husband in this way as well. I can get so frustrated by envisioning ideas, presenting them to my husband and just getting a flat "no". I think in future I will strive to help him research his ideas more so we can work together on projects and I won't feel so rejected by his feedback. Thank you Noah & Akexandra! And thank you for moving past the crappy negative comments, that must be at times very depressing, and posting this for us. You rock, Alexandra 🥰 Now on to rest of the video 😆

Don't listen to the haters! I'm glad Noah is willing to participate in these videos because it shows that you two actually had a constructive process in creating the room rather then you 'deciding' on pink alone, as it would have seemed had we not seen Noah's perspective! So don't listen to the haters, you both did a very great job, the bedroom looks better and more cozy then ever!!! And I love all the round and squiggly shapes! The dresser turned out beautiful and it fits really great in that corner. Love how cozy it looks! Only thing I would habe changed is painting the whole 'nook' of the bed, not just the wall behind the bed. I think that would have emphasized it all a little more.

Every home needs a Lottie. 2. That mirror OMG, that mirror! 3. That whole mirror section - chair, decorate pull backs, the cabinet, the lamp...the whole vibe makes it look like a place you want to hang out. 4. The collab on the color...liked the idea of the test colors to get the collaboration going on a mutually agreeable color.

This turned out so cosy! Lately, I've been super into making my own apartment cosy while my partner has no interest. He lived here years before I moved in but never did anything with the place. He only had around 5 pieces of furniture: a bookshelf, tv-stand, desk, living room table, and a bed, and a shoe rack. That was it. Over the past few years I've slowly added more/new things but these past few months I've really gone into decorating mode, all thanks to your videos inspiring me! Just a few days ago I painted an accent wall in the living room, and earlier this month I painted the whole entryway and hallway! I think the whole apartment is finally coming together. In the beginning (first 2 years), I didn't dare do anything (major) since it was "his" place, but it never felt like ME, so I started taking the liberty to decorate, etc. The good part is he lets me do (almost) anything. The bad part is he has NO interest/own opinions when it comes to interior design because as he puts it, he "doesn't care". This can be a bit annoying since I'm extremely indecisive and would like a little input... but I think we've gotten better at working out how we like the apartment, our home to feel :)

People who roll up in these comments with negativity are projecting their own unhappiness onto you. Doesn't mean it's not still hurtful though! I think you're awesome and I love seeing how you design your own spaces!

Amazing transformation! Thank you for always keeping it real - reusing what you have, keeping costs in mind and DIYing with regular people in mind! ♥️♥️♥️

I'm obsessed with your cat. Everytime it appears on screen I just make kissy noise at the screen like it can hear me it's the cutest cat I've ever seen

Having a dark paint in the bedroom makes me a little nervous the space will feel smaller or cramped or dark but wow! I think this looks incredible! Lovely, lovely space!

Having a darker colour on a single wall can actually make your room feel bigger because it makes your eye think that wall is further away 😉
