Just thought you might want to know, you should hold the piece trappaed between the stop and the blade to prevent the part from being ejected towards you.

Thanks for the tip! The saw did pick up some of the smaller pieces, but not with enough force to throw them around. I think not pushing the workpiece against the stopper too hard worked in my favor this time. I'll definitely look into creating a small jig or a handy holder stick to secure smaller parts in place for future projects. Appreciate the suggestion!
