Hello Paul! 👋🏼 What fun to watch this painting come together! Loved the way you captured the patina of the coupe. I especially enjoyed the last bit of highlights to the grass to help the sky behind, glow. That gave it such a pop. 💖 As always, you have so many lovely tricks to help an artist conquer their painting. Keep it up, it so encouraging. Hope all is well and a good week is in the making. Back to work I go. 🙃 Big Hugs to all. 🥰

This painting and the tutorial are fantastic! The subject, background and colors are phenomenal. I always plan to paint from your latest video but then you produce another tutorial a couple days later with excellent tips and I want to do that one! Too many beautiful paintings to choose from. 😹 lol Thank you Paul.😊 Can't wait to see how you will outdo this painting. Talk about putting pressure on you. Haha.

Hi Cheryl - ahhh yes I hadn't though of that. What will I do? Minimalist maybe .. a red dot on a sea of white Or maybe a black canvas with two green dots called 'black cat in a coal cellar chasing a black pudding' Lest see if I can find a photo for reference 😂🤣🥰😎 Arty hugs as always

Terrific Paul. One of your best. You just keep getting better and better. And lots of wonderful tips. You also followed some of the old masters, who also traced their images or used the camera obscura

Hey Jack - thank you for stopping by. Yes, this was a super painting and not the last old nail I'm going to paint I'm sure. The old masters taught us a thing or two and we can lean a lot from them. There's something appealing about it that some digital art just dosn't have. 😎

Hi Sylvia - yes the babies keep me on my toes. I can't tell how many times I have to re record the voice overs! 😂 As for the MOT - I used to work as an MOT vehicle tester many moons ago. I can tell you some hair raising tails. Might explain where my locks have gone 😂🤣😎

This is really amazing! I can't wait to try it. I showed my husband and he said "That's good. Oooooooh, that's good"😊 We had an old truck, around this age, on the farm that I grew up on. It was originally red but the rust took over. We'd use it sometimes to go check on the cows, when we didn't feel like saddling up the horses. The seat was bare springs and the brakes didn't work so you had to plan ahead, when you wanted to stop, and coast until it stopped moving. Unfortunately, my stepdad didn't plan well, once, and it ended up in the canal. That was the end of driving our truck😜

Hi Paul, as I watched this video I thought to myself that you have created a completely amazing piece- it certainly appears that you really had a wonderful week creating this! It is obvious you put so much love and joy into this. It is super cool, fun and like nothing I’ve ever seen before! Combining several photos, this painting takes on both nostalgia and the promise of a beautiful new day as the antique car rests bathed in glorious sunbeams! It’s a painting that has such life even with the old car in its final resting place. That car has been many places and has plenty of stories to tell… I really appreciate the new ways to make sunshine look so alive. I’m going to be using this painting for many top tips- I learned some new ideas for not just one idea for a scene but several. I finally know how to make my sea oats sparkle! Or my fall pumpkin patch wake up! It’s ingenious to paint one painting that shows multilayered colors, shapes and possibilities for new ideas! Whenever I get cold or down I will look at this painting that speaks to me and says “wake up! Life brings renewal to the heart no matter how long the days of youth have passed by!” Love this so very much. This video is so uplifting. It could be a great one for anyone who is feeling down, to get cheery again. 🤗🤗🤗💖💖💖

Hi Paul, firstly thank you for replying to the last comment and questions, they are very helpful. This oil painting is beautiful and different, which makes it special. I like how it goes step by step. It is incredibly accurate and easy to follow. Although I have one question, can this technique be used for portraits, and do you have any tips for making portraits. Also your video The Enchanted Doorway inspired me to paint my own picture with a similar element, I would like to show it to you sometime, and this picture gives even more ideas and inspiration. As usual the tutorials are: relaxing, relaxed and detailed. I hope for wonderful new pictures and ideas and I wish you happy painting and a relaxed new week.

Hi Angel - I've painted quite a few portraits (human and animals) using this style of painting. Its a very traditional approach and give good accurate results. With portraits use a very pale colour for the outline. Just visible in fact especially if your painting youngsters and folk with fair skin and hair. The outline can be difficult to loose. Jump onto my Insta page and leave a comment and a photo! Have a great week too. I have a new painting in the mix so no time off for me! 😍😎
