If this was a happy show, that restaurant scene with Louis, Claudia, Armand and Madeleine would have been a lovely ending...but no this is Interview with the Vampire, therefore pain is the only answer 😭 Madeleine's turning was beautiful though! She is so perfect for Claudia and I'm glad Claudia at least gets to have that after all the shit she's went through. Armand is fascinating truly because like you said he's old and powerful as hell and the LEADER of this coven for hundreds of years, it's wild that he's so scared of them. Lestat showing up at the end was the gag of the century...one thing about Lestat he lives for the drama. Can't wait for your reactions to these final 2 episodes!

Now we know why Lestat tried to keep Louis and Claudia from seeking other vampires. There's a reason he called them "vicious" and a "society of monsters".

I love the symbolism of the passive aggressive argument between Louis and Armand at the beginning about the painting and Louis choice to leave the space bare, which makes Armand uncomfortable the same way he finds being alone uncomfortable, his immediate desire is to replace what's been lost while Louis is content to leave it be. very interesting character moment imo

The report of the vampires hanging off the Eifel Tower was the coven using the height and their collective voice to find and contact Lestat.

The scene where Claudia saves Madeline and reveals her vampire nature to her was shot similar to the scene where Lestat kills the priests and reveals himself to be a vampire in the first season. The sudden violence, and then Madeline and Louis finding Claudia and Lestat bent over their victims feeding. I think the play Waiting for Guido was supposed to be kind of suggesting that Sam was the play write Samual Beckett, who wrote Waiting for Gadot. I love your reaction videos. I can't wait to watch the last two of the season.

Madeleine is not a Nazi. During the German occupation, she met a young German soldier who was lonely. This happened a lot during the war. Life was horrible. People were dying from starvation. Some gave in to their occupiers in order to survive. Madeleine's sister and parents died from an outbreak before the war touched down in France.

The series that became better than the book and movie it was based one. Anne Rice would have loved this. As a fan of the movie and of the books. This show has been on my radar for a while. I never thought we would be here. So many shows (and books) get stuck in limbo. It is so refreshing to see it work out better than I could have imagined. There was a time that Anne Stopped writing books in the vampire chronicles series.. Then she came back to the world and gave us 3 more. I hope this series is able to adapt all her books and continue from there. Really looking forward for whats to come.

It's not important in any respect other than the usual unreliable narrator game and my own curiosity, but I still don't 100% trust that Claudia thanked Armand for never treating her like a child and something else innocuous Armand claims she said next episode. It could just be a loving jab at Louis, but that just sounds far too scripted a remark, especially considering the several months he had her living solely in a baby doll outfit.

I actually feel kinda bad for Armand. He did something terrible but it's certainly no worse than anything Lestat did, and Armand had more reason for his actions than Lestat did - his coven of hundreds of years was going to kill him for siding with Louis (who honestly acted like he didn't care much for him or a relationship). I know we're on Louis' side since he's the main character but I can't really blame Armand. I'd pick the people I'd bonded with for hundreds of years too over Louis. And he did warn Louis over and over the entire season that the coven wanted to kill him and he couldn't keep them under control for long and told Louis to run.
@UncleBalthazar1

That's what I thought as well. I know everyone wants to ship Louis and Lestats toxic relationship (and I do too lol) so it's easy to hate Armand for coming in the middle of it, but I kinda like him. 😅 Assad is a great actor too!

Alot of this is just simply wrong. And unfortunately what happens when brainwashing and years of gaslighting and manipulation, does. It's unfortunate that a rather alarming number of viewers are falling from it, when we're watching it from outside, and being shown the truth, as we go. But, it is what it is.
@Celebrian666
@Celebrian666 23 сағат бұрын
Honestly I'm not sure vampires can have nontoxic relationships. They consume everything.
@-Arkin33
@-Arkin33 23 сағат бұрын
@Celebrian666 Totally agree. It's in their very nature, to prey on, take, consume. And alot of people forget the living forever part. When you could potentionally live for thousands of years, how do you gage what actually matters. For example, you kill 500ppl, over a span of just one year. In just 100yrs, a few 100yrs. It's not gonna matter, no one who even remembers will still be alive. If any of it was documented, it's history that not many will know or even believe. Time eats history. All it leaves is the bones, and sometimes not even that... when you live for hundreds of years, how long can the effects of trauma last. How long can you stay mad at someone, how long will it really take to forgive someone, for some horrible thing they did, say 60, 200, 900 years ago. Alot of people are wholly incapable of even considering that, taking that into account. In reflection, introspection, and just conversation about this Vampires and their relationships. Most humans don't even get 80yrs, very few get 100. And while alot of Vampires can't even make it to 100. A fair amount of them outlive even the oldest human. Most of them live long enough to see the world literally change. To a creature like that, what would even be considered "toxic". To a "monster" that literally has to take life, has to essentially become death, just to live. What would "evil" look like to them. To a being that can heal things like a broken spine and shattered skull, who potentionally can heal being burned alive, drowned, hung, etc. What would they consider "abuse", what would they consider "violence", etc...

I understand Armand. He is faced with a difficult decision. Betray his coven (which has been his family for many years) or support Louis (a man who has participated in the murder of his creator and who all this time did not seem sure he wanted a relationship). Armand is very powerful but his fear of abandonment and loneliness makes him weak.

@alinasophie7645

The thing with Armand is that he is a VERY complex and VERY flawed character. He's just as much as a villian as all the other characters are but it's just as wrong to villianize him as it is to victimize him. As Anne said herself, Armand is one of the most wounded characters she wrote, a completely traumatized and lost individual whose brain is working... well, quite different. He constantly switches between the lonely child who's fear of abandonment is so big that he'd rather let himself abused than go away (let's not forget louis' gaining control over Armand by calling him by the name Armand had when he was forced into child prostitution), the "nurse" who gives up EVERYTHING for his loved ones and ends up "serving" them, as this is the only way Armand has learned how to love, and the ruthless, manipulative gremlin who betrays his loved ones, creates "prisons" of manipulation and gaslight to keep the ones he loves around. Armand is like a powder keg, and whenever he is triggered, everything explodes and this quiet, observing character does the most f*cked up sh*t (look at ep 5). He's full of contradictions and this is what makes his character so interesting. He CANNOT be alone and always searches for someone or something he can cling onto (Louis, Lestat, the coven, the children of darkness), and when he loses it or fears to lose it, he explodes and becomes the gremlin again. I think it has something to do that Armand can't sit with himself. he even told Louis, he has completely lost his self, he does not know who he is anymore (which is actually sad, i mean the concepts of Arun, Amadeo, Armand exist for a reason), and to prevent feeling this loneliness, this pain (Marius said in tvl that Armands whole existence is suffering), he searches for some kind of light in other people that he himself can never see. And he does not realize that with his way of loving (which was taught btw), he extinguishs the spark these other people have about them and that he is pulling them into the same dark hole he exists in. This is not meant to excuse his doings, Armand is a vicious and self-centered villian who does not shy away from betrayal, m*rder, gaslight and stalking (like all vampires in this universe), BUT it's too easy to paint him as THE villian, when this brilliantly written character is SO MUCH MORE.

Some of the easter eggs I love about this series... like the appearance of Jean-Paul Sarte in episode 2 in the cafe when they are discussing existance (not unlike the appearance of Jelly Roll Morton in season 1)... also the "pretentious play" they are performing is an obvious take-off of "Waiting for Godot" by Samual Beckett... in this one they are waIting for Guido... and the vampire playwright's name is... Sam.
