People won't really acknowledge how girls are also hormonal during their pre-adolescence bc girls & women sexuality is still viewed as taboo so it's refreshing that the movie depicts how we also go thru that stage in life in a similar way as boys'.

@@ARCtheCartoonMaster It is normal for people to get their periods, but it is barely taught and talked about in health class. At least, it was when I was growing up. Not all parents have "the talk" with their daughters. I had so many friends who were so scared and thought they were dying when they got their first periods because no one taught them about menstruation. Most girls aren't taught about the entire cycle and what happens during those times. I know most adult women who don't know what ovulation is. How ovulation, PMS, and periods work as a monthly cycle. Some young people and adults aren't taught about different menstruation products and how to deal with their cramps as well. Health classes usually don't teach about menstruation disorders either like PMDD and endometriosis for example. Or how birth control pills are used to help with those disorders and are often used to regulate menstrual cycles. Those pills aren't just for preventing pregnancy. And sex-ed is atrociously taught, if even at all. Women especially need to learn about reproduction, but it's often rarely talked about in schools or by some parents.
@raynacarraway4402 жыл бұрын
Quite sad I can barely think of any children's media that's so openly talked about periods on this level and shown girls, especially girls of color, being weird and unapologetic about it like boys have been for decades now. Plus the added bonus of having the 13 year olds look like actual 13 year olds, and the "antagonist" Tyler simply acting the way he does cause that's how boys at that age act (plus showing that boys shouldn't be embarrassed for liking stereotypical feminine things and being friends with girls/bonding with them over said feminine things). I teared up like 3 separate times on my first viewing just because I was so happy to see something like this exist, and made by a team of women in the higher roles no less. New favorite Pixar movie hands down and less than a year after Luca getting that title, so thankful Domee Shi and Pixar were able to make this

I totally agree with that. This movie is a big milestone. I would have killed to have a movie like this when I was younger. 5:14 The directors confirmed that Mei drew Devon and imagined the 4*Town boys as mermen because she's so innocent that she can't imagine what they're like below the waist. Mei's voice actress also confirmed that she was given a different line for the "AWOOGA!" scene, but those lines weren't coming out quite right. They gave her the "AWOOGA!" line just to try something different, but because she was just 12 years old she didn't know what that word means, and they had to explain it to her. She was flustered recording the new line so they only did about 3 takes. One of them was the perfect one they used in the movie and it has since become iconic.

I kinda just had to experience it to fully understand it. And it STILL catches me by surprise 9 years later because it never tells me when it's coming, it just tells me when it's here. tbh i think that last thing you mentioned has always been my issue with these generational trauma movies -- never getting your own closure with your family sucks. i obviously get this is a kids movie and i'd love kids and parents to get the message that ! generational trauma exists ! and apologizing, forgetting and growing is a thing ! but also, bitterness and anger is still present and lots of people like me just don't get that type of family, so that's sad. anyways, i love these optimistic views about familiar issues :,) they make me hope newer parents and kiddos are having better lived than a lot of us did, with better representation of their struggles in their favorite characters. such a sweet movie, honestly

Love this movie and loved your reaction! I see your Turning Red, and I raise you Everything Everywhere All At Once! This cinematic masterpiece centers around generational trauma drama/comedy/action/philosophy/scifi and is easily the best film of 2022, and in my Top 5 favorite films EVER! I would love to see you do a movie reaction to this utter gem!

Rizzo stating the facts😌👏🏻. I was waiting for this reaction for so long, you guys are the best! I wished you guys included the part where she said "this is what happens when you do drugs" that had me shook🤣 I hope we get a part 2 of Inside Out with this rating, since last time Riley was entering teens...👀 *BEST MOVIE EVER* 😍🙌🏻❤ ps: shout out to Mr. Puppy in the back, so cute🥺

It was my friend's birthday, the day Turning Red was released on Disney Plus and we were having a small party after school. Just 5 girls, playing video games, hitting a piñata, but then we decided to try pot for the first time. We watched the movie high as Hell, and it was an experience that I'll never forget.

i lived on a military base in germany in the mid 90s. i had a gigapet that malfunctioned and just made a high pitched electronic noise. I was 10-ish, freaked out and out it in the big blue American mail box.. I heard that high pitched ring for weeks everytime I walked by. sorry to everyone who's mail was delayed.
