I've heard the "mente" ending many times, but I hadn't taken the time to research it. All I needed was five minutes! Thanks.

Thanks! We always remember what we got wrong on tests, so I suggest you do a video that teaches comprehension, which your style is perfect for, because there's no fluency without comprehension. Pick a simple conversational subject like cooking, then speak to the viewers and pause after each sentence. They'll answer on their own app, which you then correct and move on etc. Of course The Keystone will be in there lol. This would be a good way for us to remember mistakes. Well done.

I am a beginner with a big vocabulary but a very sloooow ear. I am old! For me he does often move too fast, but with youtube you can play it again … and pause. And while his presentation seems extemporaneous (there’s a word I do not know in español), I think he follows a tight outline or script because he is incredibly concise. I listen to two podcasts and three youtubers teaching Spanish - and he is my favorite.

not to be critical... you mentioned making the adverb feminine; you mentioned if it ends in a consonant to add the mente. But you didn't explain that when the adjective ends in an E that you keep the E and add the mente... Yes, you did include in your examples, but you didn't explain beforehand the reason

Video idea. We all know the rule of using subjunctive for a change of subject (Quiero que comes) and infinitive for the same subject (Quiero comer). But could talk about when it's allowed to do a sly subject change with an infinitive? (E.g. Me hizo pensar. Déjame explicar. Le prohibieron entrar.)
@Amy-un6xg
@Amy-un6xg Ай бұрын
I think it's because you are stating a wish/desire in "quiero que comes" that you use the subjunctive, not bc there's a subject change...🤔

Where I live in Mexico I never hear rápidamente used as the adverb fast or quickly, it's always shortened down to rápido, not even rápida. I used to say the longer form but no longer. I got the feeling I might be sounding too formal. I suppose this happens with polysyllabic commonly used adverbs over time.

In addition to the multiple adverbs in succession rule, I've noticed Spanish speakers saying things like "claro" instead of "claramente" when using the word on its own. Is this grammatically correct in Spanish and can we do it with other adverbs on their own? Can I just say something like "obvia", instead of "obviamente"?
@QrooSpanish
@QrooSpanish Жыл бұрын
Yes, that does happen with certain words like claro and obvio. In fact, a common response to something that is obvious is just to say, "Obvio."

Why do you have to make it feminine before adding the Mente if it already ends with a vowel in the case of that O?

The O will become an A before the mente is added. Rápidamente. Lentamente etc

could you do a video explaining the question starter “will” I am on lesson 6, i am about to learn subjunctives, my problem is i use “will” in english a lot and there is no substitution in spanish, sometimes you can say “ can you” instead, but i am really struggling with this, In english i would say. Will you do me a favor,I am also struggling with “would” could” and should” thank you

@amandamcconathy
@amandamcconathy Жыл бұрын
yes, i remember the lesson where i learn “Me Puedes hacer un favor” but poder is not always interchangeable with “will” please help me fix this issue, i am trying to learn aggressively and i am taking your courses very seriously, but in my English I use the word “will” a lot. For example… Will you go there? Not “Can you go there” because maybe you can, but you won’t… so WILL is the correct word used in English…. please teach me to do this in spanish
