At least not here in the UK. I was allowed to skip all my religious school lessons as I protested to being taught lies. As a result as per my request I no longer had to sit through those school lessons. At the same time children are being exposed to adult content as part of the LGBTQIA+ - - - - - nonsense. Content that is often too extreme for most children. When the children oppose being shown this content they are branded racist or bigoted. Children and parents have a right to choose what content they are shown in schools. It's also setting a bad example as showing children the infinitely diverse made up genders, promotes the ideas of diversity and helps to segregate children further when we should try to get them to unite together. Being in school is about teaching truth not what people want to make believe. Gender identity is no different from religion in this sense. Keep it out of schools until children are mature enough to understand the dangers and can think for themselves. But that would defeat the point of religion and gender politics getting children when they are vulnerable and impressionable. Try telling your fairy tales to a grown adult who knows better won't have the same result as telling a child who still believe superheroes and fairies still exist.

I think a strong case could be made that public schools should not "teach" _anything_ religious before the age of critical thinking (i.e. age 7 in most people), and after that age only comparative study of religions. If parents want to instil religion into their young and impressionable children then they have that freedom, but they can do it in their own time and not at the taxpayer's expense.

You’re right. Ideally you don’t need public schools at all. This way there is no problem at all. If you want your kids reciting Bible in school - send them to Christian school. And if you want what’s best for your kids you send them to secular schools focused on math and physics or literature and social sciences.

Indoctrinating a child without an alternative to turn towards is as good as imprisoning them in a church. While parents have the right to decide what their children are exposed to for their protection they should not have the right to deny them an education in favour of indoctrination based on lies. It should be made illegal to teach children any religion until the age of 15 or even 18. By then the child would have an understanding of the wider world free of the one sided view of religion and if they still want to learn religion then they are welcome to it. Not sure how they would enforce the no under 15 year olds laws but that's up to the governments to figure out.

The government? So some nameless bureaucrat is going to decide what my child is going to be learning. Do you think he loves my kid more than I do? Do you think department of education can know my kid as well as I do? I say stripping parents of their rights is evil. Parents generally love their kids and do what is best for them. There are cases when that isn’t true. Deal with them one at a time. Parents might be mistaken as well as the government. I’d argue it is easier to correct an individual mistake than that of a state.
