If no one’s answered this yet, I looked it up and it’s called “Parable of the long spoons”. Apparently, the idea is that in both heaven and hell, there is food but the eating utensils are awfully long. The people in heaven can feed each other with their long spoons since they are nice, but in hell the people are mean (?) or can’t cooperate enough to feed each other, so they starve
@lianneye5061 Жыл бұрын
@@elizabethgall5327 it could be a reference to one of their streams, although I don't know how it connects to stools... A conversation pit seems like the absolute worst design feature imaginable if you're clumsy, have kids, or some combination of the two. I'd probs fall in as a guest but like assuming proper interior design it really shouldnt be in a "high traffic" part of the home so to speak. Its not the kind of thing you put in a place you would walk through like that one part of your living room that everyone walks through to get in the kitchen.

Inexplicably, I got both Karina’s and Julia’s esoteric references in the first drawing, albeit not immediately. I recognized the term oubliette, but I needed a reminder on what exactly it was. I initially had no idea what Karina was talking about, but then she said the actual name and the image flashed on screen, and I recognized what she was talking about instantly. This whole episode is, frankly, esoteric madness. The stumbling over sentences, the absurd hypothetical scenarios, the strange real estate… between this, the Medieval words episode, and turning Drawfee into a government funded program in the patch notes episode, 2023 is lookin’ to be the most inexplicable year of the Drawfee yet. karina saying "what the fuck are these things called???" at 8:08 is the most painfully relatable thing. everyone else has moved on but you're stuck in brain jail trying to find the thing you mentioned that no one else understood

Okay, Yes, I knew what an Oubliette was, Julia was bang on when it came to the dungeon, and the need for Deepblueink to animate it. Also, watching this, was making it a little difficult to have a drink successfully without choking.

Conversation pits are the oubliettes of interior design because we all just kind of forgot about them

Confession, even though the name is HORRIBLE I've always kind of liked the idea of the conversation pit and wanted to live somewhere with one

If you line it with blankets and pillows, that just sounds like the ultimate chill zone. Though dragging the vacuum cleaner down to clean it sounds like a massive pain.

Also someone pointed out the possibility of it being a trip hazard and not necessarily handicap accessible. One of those cool idea that doesn't age well

Same!! Especially when the couch / seats are part of the pit or straight up a giant mattress infinity couch lol

Hearing the drawfee crew talk about how more clubs should have a theme makes me think of the only nightclub I've ever actually thought was cool, and that's this place in Minneapolis called Ground Zero. Decor is hogwarts and kinda gothic themed, and they have a little seating area off to the side with church pews where you can sit and watch their weekly BDSM shows performed by their in-house dominatrix and whoever volunteers to participate.

My sister's a big fan of property programmes (UK ones, as that's where we're from) so I've been subjected to many episodes of Grand Designs, and Julia definitely nailed it 😂

Sounds like it's time to subject your sister to this episode then, hahaha

Here's a drawing suggestion: Design cute toy merch based on Drawfee goofs and gaffs. Killer Karina plushie with different velcro-attachable knives. Julia's room full of vampire playsets. Jacob's stackable Yogi balancing toy. My Little Nathan, complete with brushable beard. Fully articulated Porfo figure complete with 3 face plates and multiple attachments. Let your ideas run wild for toy merch!

I don’t know why you typing out the word oubliette unlocked my knowledge of where I had heard it before but it was from The Labyrinth with David Bowie!!! I thought you typing Julia was the name Jared for some reason and that’s David Bowie’s character’s name!!
