Jack, hello to you my good Sir. You are now my official favorite historical guide. Andy, your show coming up sounds like it’s going to be wonderful. Thanks to Google map I’m touring the village, and can imagine listening to your must from outside the tavern. I hope you have perfect weather on the day of your performance. You’ve solved the mystery of the sheered bolts. Save them for good luck. The ceiling liner fabric is great looking material. Have a great rest of your week.

Holy Cow Andy and family, you have no idea what your family has done for so many American boating, and sailing families around the World. So manyof us would never have an opportunity to visit these historic and essential locations,we have all read and know about them but will never be able to visit ourselves! Even just a short visit was amazing for me, know we can visit on line to see more for ourselves, but we thank you immensely! Just think what your sons have now as they start your life changing adventures! FWCS fair winds....⛵️⛵️

good job on head lining, after putting glue on foam smooth down gently , if you press to hard the glue can compress the foam down and flat it and you can get a less padded feel on your head lineing . stainless stapels help with the edges.

Hi Melissa, I have been a sewing m/c mechanic all my life, re the problem m/c you are struggling with, there should be a mark on the needlebar to give the lowest point of its travel when level with the bottom bushing. then just below that as the bar rises there might be another mark to give you the position that the rotating device (hook) below the plate just passes past the scarf (a flattened area just above the needle eye) as the the needle rises to pick up the thread loop[ to lock the bobbin thread to the upper needle thread to the fabric. you will have to slacken the grub screws on the gear you changed to get the bottom hook drive shaft to move independent of the main shaft. Hope this helps there may be online instructions for the specific model you have also. hope this helps.

Will it only be the 2 panel or will you put one or two above where Jacks staying also you can purchase those ones you can put anywhere and walk over them. Andy and Melissa are no doubt under many pressures on and off camera, so you can hardly expect to say whatever comes to mind, get a snappy response, then get sh!tty with even more childish replies. Melissa, just saw you with the SailRite - that will be great for your boat projects. Do you have a spool holder with thread lifter for it? Unless there's one built in on the machine, you will need it to lift the thread and help with the thread tension. They are about $8 on Amazon or a fabric store.

@SailingMelody

The whole structure weighs less than me (Andy) so it’s only like having another person on board. The boat weighs 10,659kg so it’s about 0.7% of the boats weight. So yes absolutely it will make it heavier, just like anything you bring aboard a floating boat, but not significantly and the benefits outweigh the negatives

For future reference, never tighten the bolt, tighten the nut, so the sealant doesnt spin itself about.

Ok, those solar panel bracket hold down bolts need to be counter sunk or reversed. The bolt end and nut sticking down is going to kill a tall person when they stand up directly into them and puncture their cranium. Sincerely - a tall person.

No they won’t. They’ll have dome nuts on, they are well up inside the frame and there’s 6ft 5inches of headroom. Do remember this isn't finished and there's lots more work to do making it "nice"

@@SailingMelody if you ram your head into a dome nut it can crack a skull. a 6'3" person bounced up by a wave could impact that quite hard easily. It's your boat, you can do what you like. I've stood up unto a bolt set like that and nearly cracked my skull before, so yeah...

Without intending to appear judgmental, I wonder whether, at some later stage when all the vital work is done, you intend to fair the vertical face of the canopy grab rail? The canopy is beautifully built and looks fantastic, and could look even better with a smoother surround. As it is, it's perfectly functional, and function is always more important than form, so If you're happy with it so am I! Looking forward to seeing it with the "glass" installed.

The boat is looking really great now, the cockpit enclosure is excellent, great job. You should take Jack to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and let him walk around the real HMS Victory before you set sail.
