45:29 i appreciate the hell out of this sort of post game analysis, and wish more content creators went back to review their own play mistakes with the audience. thank you

Thanks! It's funny how many mistakes you can catch yourself when you watch back your own videos xD. I try to add one bit of commentary per video if I know that I can highlight a mistake that I don't highlight in-league. I figured if I learned how I messed up I should at least disclaim that so others don't learn bad habits off my mistakes (because there's a lot of them!) If you spot misplays, please do point them out in the comments!

As someone who’s getting back on modern after a long while, these videos have been very helpful. I’m still deciding on which variant of lantern I’ll be playing, but it’s good to see the deck performing reasonably well. Especially because I don’t plan to go too deep onto the competitive, just play some local tournaments.

Thanks! Welcome back to Lantern

This shows that for this deck you still have to be innyour A+ game every game , such a skill dependant deck i love it

I wonder if Red Bull pays to push Lantern in the algorithm because it makes me buy more of them for these leagues xD

Auto sub on the post match review on the mistake. Also helps avoid people in comments bringing up the same thing.
@entuoАй бұрын
I don't think I understand, sorry, what do you mean by "auto sub"?
@bqing87Ай бұрын
@@entuo subscribing automatically cause of the simple edit. Also I like lantern and have been considering building it.

Ashiok doesnt stop you from getting a land after they field you, it only works for opponent's search effects
@entuoАй бұрын
You know what, I went over that effect in a previous video and completely forgot about that! I went over how if I run Ashiok and use Assassin's Trophy, the opponent still gets to search for a basic. Whoops! Nice spot

@@entuo nice! gotta watch that one too. Kinda got addicted to the deck :P

French lantern players don't play the 4th bridge when they play whir, also, you rly want an Academy Ruins and an expedition map, so your Urza's saga secondary plan works more consistently. I would suggest you try shadow spear in the side, so you can just side the bridges out in most matchups. Much love

I've been using 3 Whir 4 Bridge for a while. The main reason in the current meta is for Energy -- I really want a Bridge turn 3 with 0-1 cards in hand, and it is very difficult for Whir to get the Bridge in my current build ): . I have experimented with some 3 Bridge 4 Whir builds in one of my other videos though! I love Academy Ruins, but I have had many games where I lose with Whir because I only have 2 blue lands, and therefore can't cast the Whir. I've cut most of my non-blue lands, the only lands remaining that don't tap for blue at the point are Urza's Saga and the Swamp. Plus, I have a hard time filling my own graveyard passively in UB. If I ever test out some self-mill ideas, Academy Ruins is very interesting to me, and I will try it out! Expedition Map is something in the back of my mind right now. Most of my losses at the moment seem to not be related to chaining Urza's Saga, so maybe this one will be tested in slower metas. The matchups where I want to chain Sagas the most are usually control matchups, and they're mostly on Wrath of the Skies that take away the Sagas ): . Probably better than the Power Conduit though! Thanks for the suggestions though, I will keep these in mind for the future. Merci d'avoir regardé!

@raphaelmarteaux6695 what land do you take your for academy ruins?
@zero-wo9lhАй бұрын
academy ruins? no?

Over time, I've run less and less colorless utility lands in the deck. I've found that being able to cast Whir reliably is much more useful than whatever the utility lands do. I used to run Mycosynth Gardens and Fomori Vault, but those have been cut because I kept drawing them and not being able to cast Whir. The Academy Ruins has kind of fallen out of favor for most Lantern players, too -- normally, if the opponent destroys your Bridge you're just dead anyways. Most Lantern decks don't run blue anymore either. And the blue deck have a hard time supporting the colorless land. Ruins isn't a terrible card, but harder to support than it looks ):
