@jml62633 жыл бұрын
This was easily a 10/10 record to me, probably my AOTY to be honest. It's just so amazingly cohesive and beautiful to be honest. Songs like UNDERWATER BOI, and NEW HEART DESIGN are among my favorites along with the bangers of HOLIDAY and BLACKOUT. Also the first time I heard that piano riff on DON'T PLAY, I was transported. I could honestly see this t-shirt being worn by hyperpop girls and rappers alike, it just feels so good to me. 8's about what I expected from Fantano, but this album just made me feel so great, so happy. Fantano can joke about 'dudebros forming a genre' or whatever, but I think this album is pushing boundaries forward without abandoning sound and edge and I can't say enough good things about how it makes me feel. I kiss this album straight on the lips. UNDERWATER BOI is incredible, and LONELY DEZIRES is an incredible outro that fits the sweeter hazier side of the album... but that's just his opinion ~

Imagine Turnstile came here to see a review of their album and all anyone can talk abt is Donda

I had never heard of this band until I stumbled upon "Time & Space" and it ended up being my AOTY. I feel like this one took a bit longer to grow on me because of the slower songs but I realized they're good "catch your breath" tracks. IDK if this will be AOTY but it'll be close.

They really have embedded their pop sensibilities with their hardcore roots and created something magical on this album. I never would have thought indie and hip hop sounds could mesh so perfectly with hardcore yet here we are. This is how you redefine a genre

the evolution of Turnstile's sound reminds me of Title Fight (in a really good way). Glow On is a banger

Maybe but not quite as abrupt - TF went full shoegaze in a single album, Turnstile definitely trying new things (very successfully) while still pretty rooted in their classic sound

@@Joshua-ww1fz I really wouldn't say new it's more just putting things that they were more inspired by to be more authentic outside of hardcore

The best live band in hardcore. They really upped their game on this one. First half is especially strong. Gives me a Shelter meets Porno for Pyros meets 2011 chillwave vibe.

Honestly the vibe on TND has been nice so far. I know that negative/mid reviews still exist but, and maybe it's just because of the two recent 10s, I feel like there's been more positive reviews than normal. It's nice, hope you're doing well Antnee :)

Duuuude, this is so sick seeing you do Turnstile. I've been watching your videos a lot more recently, and I figured you were somewhat into this side of music, but it's so sick to see you reviewing it in depth likes. Seriously love your take on music, it's so rad! Can't wait for more reviews on future releases!

I absolutely love this record. I hear so many influences. I hear janes addiction, beasty boys, suicidal tendancies, classic NYC hardcore, lots of late 80's punk influence.
