absolute truth in the beginning. you gotta be practically fall in love and get down right close and dirty with any track you ever wanna get good at mixing. knowing a song beat for beat can take some time, but its worth it in the end

I can't believe the likes of Swedish House Mafia get so much respect & admiration for their "dj'ing". For a start they just do very basic mixing & like all the other edm guys, produce & play terrible music. This guy actually remixes the music right before your eyes & really does use the turntables as an instrument. Much respect to you DJ Angelo!

In my opinion, this is what beat~juggling really is. Some guys loop sections of a song over & over. This guy actually dissects the song! i.e. he takes instruments in the song & re-arranges them in some great patterns, effectively re~mixing the whole tune. I'm nowhere near his level but I'm getting better thanks to his videos. They've all been such a big help to me mainly because he explains everything so well. Angelo if you're reading this, Thank you so much buddy! Peace out...DJTrueSoul.

These are still some of the craziest videos for turntablism because he's the only one who gives a damn enough to break something down into the parts. Back in the day we had to learn this shit without DJ Angelo's tutorials, but I wish they were around back then! It would've made life a lot easier! And that accent... My boy is "beat jooglin" :)

@polaroidsky If you want the best of the best so you dont have to upgrade later, I'd suggest technics turntables and a rane mixer. you'll be throwin down a couple grand, but its worth it. Get a rane 57 mixer and download serato scratch live.

@trlbfr01 they're not necessarily different things, you can control mp3s with vinyl. but advantages of vinyl control over using say some buttons, you can scratch, it's more hands on, it's more fun to do, and cooler to watch (which is important when djing is a performance).

If you look at the tonearms and overall design they 're similar to a lot of non Technics turns...they call em Super OEM. So these Reloops are pretty much like Stanton Str8's and so on...

@drgreentumb909 Hi. The headshells are screwed onto the arm normally but the cartridges are set to the right at an angle of 23 degrees. This puts them in the same position as they would be at if the arm was straight. I do this on my Technics 1210's & it makes a huge difference. If you have an "S" shaped tonearm I recommend it. It makes the needles skip a lot less. Just loosen the cartridge a little & move the cartridge until it's in a straight line with the pivot point of the tonearm.
@DjDupree
@DjDupree 12 жыл бұрын
You move the Cross fader to the Channel (left or right) that you want the audience to hear. Then you can pull back (rewind) the other turntable without anyone hearing it.

@truesouljs 14 жыл бұрын
@spin1200s If you watch his 1st tutorial he explains that he sets the cartridge to an angle of 23 degrees. A lot of turntablists do this. It means the needle is in a straight line with the pivot point of the tone arm & is in the same position it would be if he had straight tone arms so therefore skips less but apparently wears down the record faster. Peace out...DJTrueSoul.

Hey Dj Angelo! Just a small question... Is there any really really good reason why you switched from your Technics classic set to this more modern looking set? does it make juggling and looping easier or tighter in any way? (Specially the mixer)

The only reason is, that Reloop payed Angelo to use their equipment. There is no reason why these turntables or this mixer should make juggling easier.

Good vid for beginners, at 3:54 you made a mistake, i imagine you didn't mean to say, beat 1 was a snare, beat 2 was a kick etc. As 1 was a kick and 2 was a snare etc.Thought i'd mention it so you don't confuse some kids
