just a heads up there is a bunch of people renting cars on turo esp teslas and they swap the parts out with aftermarket or broken parts. they do it alot with bumpers. Another thing people do is rent teslas to go street race them and hoon in them to make youtube videos. I actually watch 2 people who make a living off renting turo cars in up state and hooning around speeding and driving wild for content. Also keep an eye on the gps and make sure it never ends up at automotive shops because ive seen people get busted in the act swapping out oem parts with cheap aftermarket parts.

I don’t know why KZbin put this on my feed, but this whole video gave me anxiety because of his decision making. The car damage alone was nuts, like how did he manage to not see the car was missing the wheel covers until he got home? I am surprised the guy even paid since he drove it out of the pickup area and didn’t make a claim until he arrived to his own house. Not to mention the car wash, between the cost of materials and the time spent a paid car wash is the way to go, time is money, and $7 is worth the time. I get that he was trying to get reviews, but you can do that while still being an economical rental, but not so cheap that you are losing money, he said it himself, he wasn’t able to work for Amazon having to do all the car stuff.

You're going to want to take that in and get it up on a lift. There could be significant undercarriage damage that you can't see yet. Also, they probably messed up the alignment or put significant wear on the tires by doing burn-outs. Doesn't Tesla have a feature that lets you see how it's been driven? It's basically a phone with wheels. Those wheels will never be the same. Charge them for the replacement of 4 wheels.

Ooo I see the damage to your drivers side quarter panel - claim that on insurance. It’ll run you about $900-1,200 out of pocket - at least that’s what we would charge. And we’ll have the car about 4 days. Make sure to include the wheel repair. Take your car to a local body shop and let them handle your insurance for you. First step, file a claim, get a claim number. Take claim number to body shop.

You can making six figures on Turo you have to maximize how you’re doing everything. You need to charge $70-100 bucks for delivery fee if you have to drop it off. So that pays for the Uber right back and you might have a little money left over. Always take a picture of the dash on the car so you got the miles & gas range. If they don’t charge it, they have to pay you the money for it or if they did pay for a charge, they have to pay you as well report it to Turo asap to get reimbursed every time. Also looks like the best Turo plan is choosing the 75 plan for your self to get paid and the stuff comes with it. Also you should invest into a car wash membership for the Tesla for like 10-15 bucks a month then you can wash the car real fast. Not have to worry about it. I’ve been watching a ton of Turo videos to learn about this platform and tricks and tips to maximum profits. Make sure you do the same. It will help you a lot. I am planning to do it myself next year. 🎉

I see this video as i am on a trip in Florida, renting a Tesla model 3 on Turo. Those people who don't care are the reason we can find nice cars to rent at reasonable price any more. It's really sad. I always take super good care of all the car I rent, like if it was mine, even washing them inside and out before returning them. So far, I really enjoy my rental experience with that M3. Hope you can keep renting your car on Turo in the future, without any issue though.

For future reference, if you still have payments left on a car you're generally required to spend insurance payouts on the repairs directly. Otherwise the lending agency can actually repossess the car. They ams't always enforce it, but it's more frequent now.

Get a Circle K car wash subscription. You get 2washes per day, open 24hrs, carwash can be touch/touchless and upgraded to fast/ultimate... It supposed to be locked to one license plate but they don't check unless you're abusing it. I occasionally give my friends washes in their cars and in rentals.

Check wheel collision online in bath pa. They do core exchange on your wheels. They send you new ones and u send back your damaged ones and they refurb . Also u should mark your rear lights with a paint pen, people rent them on turo and swap their broken parts with good ones to save on costs

By the way, if you were in my area we could repair your rims for $150/ea. the damage isn’t that bad. They’ll restore to new perfectly. Look up wheel fixers in your area. They’ll pick up your wheels at your house and return them to you in a few days. Much cheaper than getting new wheels and you’ll never know they were damaged.

Just get a new set of turbine hubcaps, and then order the rimcase wheel protectors, so instead of getting damaged hubcaps or rims, you would just get a damaged rimcase which can be easily replaced and is much less expensive to fix then.

Just repair the rims yourself, buy a spray can and paint them matt black or whatever, a colour that is easy to touch up in your garage in case of damage. Make a claim every time someone curbs your wheels. Even if you only ask $100-$150 from customer for a "touch up", then fix it yourself for $5. With enough idiots you can cover at least part of your car payment 🤠

He would force people to buy new wheels, but refused to give the person that rented the car the old wheel as proof that the wheel was actually replaced. It was a complete scam as the same wheel was "replaced" with nearly every rental even though it was never replaced even once.

The charger dead pins is a common issue. It often breaks and gets stuck in the charger connectors. Tesla does ‘Goodwill service’ on it and there was a service recall on it. Reach out to SC and they will replace the dead-pins

So…. Yea. Was contemplating renting mine out. And now I’m not. But Turo should make the owner and renter both do walk around before and after rentals. Would solve a lot of headache. Sorry this happened to you, but looks like you’re super positive and keep that up!

instead of wrapping u should get a ppf (paint protection film) nd ppf the tesla your self to protect the paint for future scratches and make it way to easier keep to clean

Ozone is a pretty cheap and very efficient way to get rid of car smells, the cheapest way is usually a ventilated box with a uvc light. Just make sure you air it out properly after and don't get exposed to uvc light

I feel for you. I used to rent out my Subaru Outback on Turo to help cover the car payments. It seems like half of the renters were good and returned the car in good condition. The other half were messy, and it took me time to get rid of their smell and mess. As you said, it is active income instead of passive income. Back then, I valued my time at $40 an hour. A bad renter would usually cause me to spend 1 - 3 hours to get the car back in acceptable condition. There is no way that I would earn enough in rental money to cover my time. Also, I spoke with Turo support early on, and they said that if a renter messes up a car, I could work with them to have the renter reimburse me. Well, when I took them up on the offer, they said I should have added a rental option for a prepaid car wash. That was it, I was done with Turo.

As an an x-Turo All star host. I hosted a 2021 model Y for 3 years. The price is everything when it comes to clientele. Higher the price the easier the process and more rewarding. Only Turo cars you are not attached to.
