Seems like its beneficial to have trackers and hidden cameras in the cars. That was my only reservations about becoming a Turo host, having my car stolen.

Great info... The one issue with a hard wired tracker is that a smart criminal can just disconnect the car's battery and that will disable the tracker, unless it has a battery back up. I use a battery powered tracker and it has a battery charge life of around six weeks. I guess the ultimate protection would be to have both a hard wired tracker and a battery tracker in the car.

You can get a starter disabler that will kill the car so you have enough time to retrieve it also

Remember back when you recommended the Verizon Hum? I have to say... although that system brought me some peace... more often then not it didn’t work properly. Definitely would recommend a hard wire system.

What is crazy to me is why would anyone steal a Corvette to stay in the area and dump it to a local motel parking. Hard to find the motivation behind.

Hi there, I have question if you have an answer to it. The Turo guest stole my car but I got it recovered. She trashed my car and the cost of repair is $6000 but Turo estimate just $1900. They don’t want to cooperate with me regarding the repair cost. Also do I have the right to sue the guest for damaging the car. She rented it 5 days and disappeared for a month without extending the trip. Thank you so much

Always get a 3rd party tracker and dont rely on manufacturers tracker as thieves know how to disable them.

So what happens if your car is stolen on Turo and they rip out the hardwire tracking device and the police can’t find your vehicle? What does Turo do in that instance with insurance? You made the comment that you could be at a loss of an entire vehicle so I just wanted to ask. I’ve got 8 cars rented out this weekend and now I can’t sleep 😐

Tbh u don’t need to have a nice car for it to get stolen… there are parts on every car that is worth something especially catalytic converters every car has em and they go for a lot on the streets… it’s a huge misconception thinking that u need to have a nice car in order for someone to steal it…

Are you allowed to list a car on Turo that has ever been in an accident? The previous owner of my Camaro wrecked the car but it only suffered minor damages. I was told by a host that if the car has been in an accident turo won't cover you if a renter wrecks it.
