I honestly loved this game. The splitscreen, the cheat codes to become a raptor, the jump pads, the black hole grenade thing, the button on splitscreen map that made the Raptors come out and the ladders disappear. It's honestly one of my childhood favorites that my brothers and I sunk countless hours into. Wish they would recreate and revitalize this franchise. Nothing but nostalgia for me.

The club that could gib enemies in one hit with a charged blow. The bows and arrows with scopes, explosive arrows, and poison arrows that would literally make enemies vomit to death OR cause vomit to come out of their throat when you blow their head off! Evolution had some badass guns, that's for certain.

I had Turok: Evolution as a kid, and even back then I knew it had issues but I still liked it. It set me up with a love for Lost Land type settings where there is a strange mix of primitive and futuristic, magic and technology. I've even used Turok for a DnD setting, which worked out great! Something the video didn't go over was how the whole series was rooted in an adventure pulp comic from the 50's about two native american boys who get lost in a hidden valley where dinosaurs never died out. The Escape from Lost Valley game is based off the original comic, which is why it's so different than what people got used to.

I'm fine with that, the problem is Bruckner did very little as a villain for Turok. He only appears three times in the game. Two of which are in cutscenes, one at the beginning when Tal-Set and he get teleported to the Shadowlands. You then see him again after freeing the Wiseman from prison and escaping. Finally you encounter him at the end of the game for a final fight which is really easy. Bruckner needed to have more of an impact but does nothing. Given he's a Confederate, it would've been awesome to have him antagonise Tal throughout the game. The only villain you hear about in Evolution is Tyrannus who was clearly meant to appear in the sequel after you defeat his army and the Juggernaut.

@@TheGamingChad. I loved Turok Evolution. By far one of my most memorable games of my childhood along with Mercenaries Playground of Destruction. Everyone hated the flying levels but the same can be said for other games where they have hated levels, Like GTA San Andreas with the train chase level. Me and my friends loved the multiplayer, I loved the Sleg Fortress level so much that Id constantly replay that, the raptors used to scare the shit out of me, I loved all the weapons and I fell inlove with the Slegs which then made me start Lizardmen in Warhammer Fantasy, and adore Lizardfolk in D&D. This game opened the world for me. I have 3 copies of this game (just incase they break and 4 copies of Mercenaries, I even recently rebought a PS2 just to have the feels). I didnt like Turok 2, and I wasnt as invested in Turok 1 as I was with Evolution. The Boss fights could of been better, like the last battle, but overall I enjoyed this game.

What a shame, this was my whole introduction to the entire Turok franchise back in the day. Now I'll wonder how different things would have been if I'd played the others first.

What a coincidence that this video would come out talking about Turok Evolution. While i'm watching a KZbin walkthrough on well, Turok Evolution lol. From what I've watched of it, the game looks like lots of fun. I bet Nightdive Studios could bring it back and improve upon it tremendously. I just want more Turok games because of how amazing the first two game were and still are because of Nightdive. I hope they also make their own Turok games at some point because I want this franchise to comeback because it's fucking awesome!

one of my favorite most memorable games ever! one of my favorite memories is playing splitscreen with my brother on that one map with raptors on the ground so you had to stay up in the walkways in the trees. and the first encounter with a t rex! such a fun game as a kid

I would love to see Turok make a return. It's got to be one of the most unique IPs by a longshot, from the game series to its origins in comic books. With old franchises like Doom getting brought back to the game industry forefront, why not give the Dinosaur Hunter another chance?

The context of expectation management can make such a difference. My first Turok game ever was Evolution and I actually absolutely loved it. My main motivation was anything that has dinosaurs, I'm in for it. And so I was pretty fine with what I got. Then later came Turok 2008, and it was different but I once again jumped in without expectations and I loved it so much.

I’ve told myself that if I ever get ahold of millions of dollars I’m gonna hire Monolith to do an Evolution remake in the style of Shadow of Mordor. Brutally killing and assassinating sleg captains and generals working up to bruckner and tyrannis. Idk, weird fantasy of mine.

Why? I mean, its story is utter trash, but I bet more than enough people were ok-ish with it.
@PonmonofNuggetor3 жыл бұрын
@@Pavlinka__ Just because people liked it, doesn’t mean it can’t show up on the show. Plenty of good games like Doom, LA Noire and Metal Gear Rising have been featured on the show. The primary factor in deciding whether a game gets on the show is if it had a troubled development. Bad games are just easier targets.

This is late, but I'd recommend doing a video on Dino Crisis 3. It's so mishandled and all over the place, that it's hard to believe it's a Dino Crisis title. It even killed the franchise, which is really sad cause the first two games were great That or the Atari Jaguar. I wanna know how that mess came to be
@WM-mu8ep2 жыл бұрын
The only common thing is the dinosaurs lol. Turok is more like 007, perfect dark, or time splitters for the era. The game you talking about is more like old school resident evils.

I'd like to hear what happened behind the scenes with Metroid: Other M. The little snippeds I've read around the net make it seem like it might be a Tommy Wiseau/Devil's Third-esque scenario of a specific self-professed Auteur creator getting lost in the sauce of their own flawless-to-them vision, but I'd like to hear some of the facts behind that.
@bawkbawkboo14 жыл бұрын
Yes, the choices made on that game truly demand explanation. I'm also shocked Nintendo went along with it, considering how careful they are with their core franchises in general.
