I got all the achievements in this game, dear god. The game was so glitchy enemies would teleport, turn invisible, and the hit detection was terrible. To get the Heroes trophy you had to cheat the system and use a shotgun that knocked down the enemy player, stun locking them. Worse is that you had to pay for the rest of the campaign.

It blows my mind that Capcom has tried so many times to create a multiplayer RE game, but the one they continue to ignore that fits the RE style so well is Outbreak. Super biased towards Outbreak and I'm still convinced a modern update to that system would be the multiplayer RE game that would do it for them.
@broderickfoster21072 ай бұрын
I know they’re overdone now, but what if they made a battle royale in something like Racoon City where the goal is to stay uninflected the longest. It keeps the survival aspects but at the same time each game starts with one AI infected who is guaranteed to spawn near a player. Once a player “dies” to an infected they have a short timer and then become one of the infected which pits them against the remaining survivors. The goal is to win by surviving the longest, and as such whomever is left would be rewarded with the highest amounts of rewards but the more you kill as an infected the more you can make up for your lack of winning rewards. It gives players something to do after being eliminated and can help speed up matches as the number of hostiles constantly increases. Survivors can attack the infected but nothing keeps them down permanently, it only stalls them with a short cooldown timer before they get back up and continue the chase after you. Essentially it’s the playground game infection taken to a battle royale format. I haven’t really seen any of those games which keep the player engaged after being “eliminated”. Players who enjoy hunting others would actively seek out being infected and then take their eyes to other survivors ultimately speeding up match times too so you wouldn’t have too much of a problem with stalling. As for a “storm” like mechanic it’s an apocalyptic city there’s hundreds of ways you can block off certain areas, but a big one is that you’re waiting to be saved by a helicopter before Racoon City gets nuked and so when there’s only a few players left an extraction point is created and all infected are informed of the remaining survivors positions. After that a very quick timer begins and if you miss it the infected get to you and you lose your chance at the winning rewards (although you get a comeuppance bonus for making it to the end). I don’t know, just could be a fun idea with familiar settings and fit the survival horror idea really well.

Call me crazy..but I'd kinda like an RE fighting game just for the ridiculous premise alone. I'll tell you this for free: Despite being tremendously flawed in various areas, RE:ORC was legit fun to play (especially with friends (naturally)) back during the PS3 era. It's a turd, but was the closest to an RE2 REmake available at the time and I embraced it.

I dont think a game should be seen as a turd if its very fun to play.
@DanteMasaru2 ай бұрын
@@CyberLance26 It's possible, though kind of rare, that a number of aspects of a game are more on the negative side, but the fun factor is one of the few aspects that stands out (though not very much) positively. RE:ORC's presentation was not good (bad looking character models, especially during cutscenes). Combat, while enjoyable for the most part, was rather clunky. Story wasn't that engaging but it is a noncanonical spinoff about two factions. Perhaps "turd" alone is a bit of an unfair assessment, but perhaps more along the lines of a 'polished turd'? Though using the word "polished" is still a bit of a stretch, especially if one were to play the game nowadays. I'm sure it hasn't aged well. Oh wait, how about "crap-tastic"?

@darrylaz35702 ай бұрын
Not only that, Inafune's Western-centric plans often conflict with the existing fanbase who wanted the games to feel and play like how the JP devs made. Once you move hands to a Western dev, there's always the tiny nicks and ticks that feels different and will nag the playerbase and will often immediately feel lesser quality of. Don't get me wrong, back then he had a point. He was right back then when Japanese devs were struggling to adapt to the HD development environment. What he didn't account for is what the fanbase wants, the aforementioned communication difficulties, and that the JP devs eventually catch up and regain their stride nowadays.

I loved how re6 played at the time. But the campaign was disappointed. Ambitious and I liked all the new characters. But it just wasn’t as fun

Yuuup, been a fan since the first game (use to watch my dad play it) and this combined with 6 just killed my interest in the series so much. Granted I'm glad we got the lengthy break from the series before 7 so we could kind of just let the franchise cooldown before fatigue woulda probably set in.

This was my first introduction to the Resident Evil franchise. I remember seeing the poster for this game in the window of my town's Game Stop and trying to figure out what a resident evil was.

Can we get an episode on the Corpse Party franchise? I think it would make for a great episode given all the ups and downs this series has gone through.

Thafnine did an overview of the series, but I'd be curious if there was a behind the curtain reason the series went so sour.

You should check out RE Outbreak File 1 & 2 next. I mean holy shit there was so much cut content in those games, of which I absolutely loved.

Wish they would’ve gone farther with the What If stuff. I want to feel the ramifications man. I’d be down for Wolfpack to return in some official capacity. Same with those Echo Six dudes. All the warriors.

Funnily enough I was one of the number one players on this game on the PS3 . I mostly played Heroes mode, but this trick worked in all modes, just not as well. Let a zombie infect you after collecting max amount of first aid sprays, and your health will be multiplied greatly, but it'll also slowly drain. As long as you heal when needed, you'll almost never lose a fight as you'll have at least 4x more health than the other player. I only met 1 other dude who knew this trick through the entirety of the time I played this. Funny part about it is I'd have teammates who'd heal me with zombie spray, and I'd die instantly from the health loss. That was the biggest issue with this but having a mic and telling others not to heal you can mitigate this. I'd often be called a hacker, but it's just exploiting game mechanics to the fullest. I think my largest kill streak on this game was about 30 on Extraction. There was one spot left on the chopper and on one of the maps I camped the staircase to the top of the roof and managed to get that many kills until time nearly ran out. In Heroes mode, it'd make you just about immune to knife damage, and most guns would do a very miniscule amount of damage as Heroes have more health than other characters already. There's no way you'd die unless a teammate came along to heal the infected status. Other than that, it was absolute bullshit that half the story mode was DLC and I never played the other half other than the free first level.

i liked the game a lot. it only needed a few things to be changed. team member ai was bad. and making the other living people bullet sponges was a bad idea. if they made those changes it would sell. they could also redo the outbreak games with upgraded ai and it would do well.

umbrella corps is actually pretty fun to play, the most underrated out of the other online multiplayer RE games.
