Says wait 24 hours to apply 2nd coat for 12 months protection.
@nicksdragon69295 жыл бұрын
Just a note on what you said and did on the video. You said it says to put two coats on if you want it to last a year. The instructions say that and one more thing; it says to wait 24 hours before applying the second coat. The reason for that, is that it takes 24hrs to cure, if it is still in the curing stage then it just becomes part of the first coat. If it sets up for 24 hours, then it hardens to a point that when you apply the second coat, it actually sets up on top of the first coat without becoming part of the first coat. Curing allows a thicker coat and thus the longer protection. TW is the only spray-on that says with proper prep it will last at least 6 months and with a second coat will last 12 months; whereas the other sprays, all say their respective products could last as long as six months. FYI.

Good video, although I think to try to compare Jet Black Spray Polish to Ceramic Polish and Wax, well, there is no comparison. The Ceramic Polish is a real "PRO" product, that both an enthusiast and the average Joe could use, whereas the Pro would not use the Jet Black to replace the Ceramic Polish and Wax. And the results of the Ceramic product gives professional-level results. When comparing the Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Sealant Spray to the Sealant Hydrophobic wax is again comparing a significantly more solid Si02 product to a lesser product (in my opinion). But thanks to you and numerous other KZbinrs who are testing these products for us, time will tell who really is the better buy. I am pretty sure the Hybrid Solutions Ceramic line will be the clear winner. I switched over to the Hybrid Solutions line in November and can already see the improved performance. I am glad you shared the Average Joe missing the detail in the instructions, but I hope they too enjoy the new world of Turtle Wax just as I. I’ll offer the benefit of my experience regarding turtle wax ceramic spray wax. First, don’t apply in direct sunlight and do not apply with a surface temperature above 75 deg Fahrenheit. Don’t spray directly on to panel. Use a microfiber applicator pad for complete and uniform coverage. Remember less is more. Buff to a high luster with a clean microfiber towel. Change your towels often. I used appx 6 oz for two applications. Paint preparation is paramount and clay bar first as a minimum. Machine polishing in addition is even better. Wait 24 hrs between coatings. Work logically top to bottom. You will find as I did the results are excellent. As with everything in life you’re only going to get out of this what you put into it. Paint prep will consume most of your time. Work methodically and carefully.

great honest review Craig -- i agree about the pricing, typically TW UK website is about £2-4 higher for the older hybrid range than i can get locally from Autosave or Autoparts (Inverurie) -- Sealant and Dry & Shine for about £7 each. Hope to see the ceramic range in Halfords in late January for maybe £14-16 each, but will have to wait and see what other vendors offer too, its a lot of outlay if you don't like the products. Interesting stuff here. Good video well produced. Good showcase of the product here. Thoughts and conclusions well voiced without negativity. I think that your detailing products in the background need a bit of a tidy up for camera. Its looking messy, much like my own :). This does do what it says it does on the tin, but ... I also think that this is a complete system of protection that needs to be used together to get the claimed 12m protection. I firmly believe TW need that SIo2 to be built up in layers, and constantly topped up. This might backfire because a lot of enthusiasts will be applying these as stand alone products, due to the cost, not reading the instructions carefully enough and will be disappointed with the results. Also the 24hrs cure time on the polish and sealant requires you to have a garage to properly cure. A lot of enthusiast will be doing this in a drive outside, so a 48hr cure time on 2 products is fairly unrealistic for the UK, especially Scotland where I am. Unfortunately for my money this looks like a step backwards. Its going to be interesting to see what retailers do with this price point. I can't wait to see your review on the shampoo, its non foaming, probably due to the SIo2 content :)

You've absolutely nailed it there mate! The long cure time is an issue, but again these products are aimed above the average joe to enthusiasts and professionals so I can see things from both sides of the coin here. And yes, the shelves need a better system of organisation 👍

@@SpeckyMcSporran I understand that is is aimed at detailers starting out on their journeys, maybe aimed at people who liked the old hybrid range and want to take it up a notch. Maybe dip a top in SIo2. Maybe they pick based on how cool the bottle looks. The people we used to be, standing in Halfords staring at the shelves for hours, working out what we want to try next. It may be aimed at professionals, but there isn't a person out there thats going to take 2-3 days on 1 job(unless your getting paid), when you can get the same or better results from other cheaper products on the market If I was a mobile detailer, I'd want a lot more than 20 cars for £97 of product. If time is money then this is a waste of resources. I'm an IT Systems professional have been for 20 years, and if I keep coming back to a job every 24hrs for 10-20 mins, it looks like I have no idea what I'm doing. As a pro detailer I'd be concerned how the application of this system looks to my customers. Even if it was in line pricing with the old hybrid range, the polish and this are out due to the cure times alone. Also the potential for mis-application and the return of poor results/longevity increase significantly for the audience this is aimed at. The big questions here are would I buy it, and if so would I recommend it to others?

This is polish version :) - translate if you want to know what I thinking about this product Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Spray Coating. ten zielony stosowałem :) Kupiłem ten produkt. By pozbyć się smug przetarłem wilgotną szmatką z mikrofibry i ponownie przepolerowałem. Pozdr

12 months of protection IF you put 2 coats of ceramic spray on.

£18 is just to much for that product. From such a mass producing company it is very expensive. I might expect a high cost from a low volume small brand just to cover the costs but not from them. I guess thats why they sent so many boxes out because they knew reviewers wouldnt buy it 🤣
@SpeckyMcSporran5 жыл бұрын
That's entirely possible Darren, but when you look at the cost of ceramic products from Meguiars and Chemical Guys it's still cheaper than them. And I know you've bought loads of waxes so how many can last as long as this? And how much did they cost? And how long did they take to apply? There are lots of factors to consider. Remember that the price will likely change once other mainstream retailers get their hands on them which will make them even more competitive.

@@SpeckyMcSporran meguairs was only that expensive to begin with because halfords thought they could charge the earth for thay cermaic spray. It soon shot down in price when every other retailer had a much lower price. Waxes are an obsession more than anything. I dread to think how much i spent Some will last up to 9 months and some wont. I genuinely dont think this will last the full 12 months without a top up. Just like true ceramic coatings dont last to 2,3,4 or 5 years they say without topping up of something every 6 months. It looks like a good system but i wont be in a rush to come buy it. Also the wait for 24 hours thing puts me off. If i had to do that then I would use a real ceramic coating that has a similar way of applying it but will last longer.

It’s it a coating btw it’s a sealant
@SpeckyMcSporran5 жыл бұрын
I guess it's a marketing thing, instead of a ceramic infused sealant they want it to be thought of as more durable like a coating. 🤷🏻♂️

The directions said specifically to wait for the application to cure before applying a 2nd coat. Duha

I tested it to see how it performs if you don't read the full instructions. If it works well then it's forgiving and beginner friendly.
