As a paladin main here i can't wait to get into this, this will finally make prot pallys actual main tanks instead of being relegated to off tanking or trash mobs i am in love with this and can make something of the Preg-pally build from Wotlk or some variation - a high armor healer that also does a shitton of damage and is hard to lock down a combination of prot and holy as for ret....yeah more damage LOL

Later on when you get enough gear, prot pallys would swap to a 2h and 2h tank (similar to dw tanking for war). That's prob the reason then mentioned that in the vengeance section.

the holy shock one id did not like. its always been a healing/damage spell. keep it that way >

As a ret I just find it a bit boring to have to wait 6 seconds to use any melee spell. I wanna use my weapon infused with light magic! I'm really glad crusader strike deals actual damage and doesn't feel almost poitless to press and that Holy Strike is gonna be instant cast, feels better! I just want my gameplay to feel better, for me it's more important than how viable it is. They could do more interesting stuff with the seals as well.

They implemented a similar ability in 1.17.2, they were so close to giving Avengers shield haha. Maybe in the future they will give us this amazing ability.

Let's be clear. Holy paladin healing in melee will be seen as a liability in progression content and not allowed in serious raids. For dungeons, it's gonna be pretty fun, but it's just too dangerous to be in melee range of a boss while healing and using your globals on anything not healing will be very dangerous for your raids survivability. Nobody will be doing that in raids. They have to do some pretty major stuff to make melee holy pally work. Also, you don't appear to know about the couple items with +X fire/nature damage added to melee attacks that have been used by paladins on turtlewow to proc judgment of wisdom and also vengeance because the damage can crit. Look up fiery plate gauntlets and the ring from the rogue boss in gilneas. I forget the rings name atm. Using both is crazy uptime and mana restore on hit that alleviates ret/prot mana problems.

Many people enjoy the Vanilla vibe on this server, so please - don't kill that because of people who should play Retail but cant afford to pay $10 a month. If someone wants a warrior-like paly - theu can make a warrior alt, and most player actually have alts

Holy Paladin change is ridiculous, having to melee to gain all these new benefits is crazy, guarantee every Holy Paladin will revert back to FoL spamming the melee aoe is just to much in classic.

Yea, I have to say, the biggest disappointment for me is the removal of the Shockadin. Really a big loss. I know it's a super niche spec but damn if I didn't love it.

I'm not a fan of these changes beside the holy one. Especially ret. I like the frenetic playstyle of crusader spamming. I like the unique interaction with certain items like Scythe of the Harvest and MCP. I liked that ret paladin is kinda the underdog that with effort and unique items and synergies (flametongue totem) can rival warriors. Also, these change feel like are taking away the vanilla mindset from twow. I think they should've brought these changes very slowly while keeping an eye on community feedback instead of going all out so suddenly while being so conservative in the past. No wonder in the twow discord the community is very divided

The core of holy in 1.12: You can slack on consumables and still be kinda acceptable and shine only if like lack of frost rez on saph. And lack of scaling of flash of light becoming obvious in t2.5, t3. The core of ret: Spend all your gold on every consumable possible and still suck ass in pve. Or prepare retbomb in pvp by sitting on the ground. Also changes kinda fixed how bad itemisation for healers in vanilla suck. For example, if you are minmaxing healing output in 1.12.1 you want your pre-raid stratholme chest to change in aq40 only. So whole 2 raid tiers w/o direct upgrade. And every single healer wanted same cloth pieces.

They jsut nerfed the shit out of us for no good reason. Holy Nova was the only fun healing priests got to have in dungeons and its now worse than useless. Helf meditation mana regain was halved, it is now barely enough to cast a single spell. Has been a LOT of drama and scandal surrounding this cash grab server over the years. The world is 6 years old and the economy is completely trashed, certainly a terrible experience for new players. Best look elsewhere, Epoch is starting up in the next few months...
