Months back did I solve this puzzle for the first time when there was no Corona, but there was this type of sudokus for which I would often get the jitters. Now these puzzles could,no longer, scare me ; rather they challenge me always to get into a cerebral fight with them. That is why I took up this puzzle again, but was forced to traverse an almost different course where the configuration of the numbers took such a turn that the XY wings didn't have any scope to play its role. In any case, I found the solution quite interesting this time too.

Earlier I used to find sudoku quite complicated and couldn't even understand its pattern then I started looking up for sudoku videos which were a disaster in explanation but thanks to KZbin and the sudoku guy that I luckily came across your channel you are an excellent teacher earlier it used to take me 2-3 hours to solve a puzzle but thanks to your tutorials now I am able to solve them in an hour. I did the puzzle myself without following you. I was jammed up until I found the pivot in R1C7. Then it all came together. I got satisfaction seeing you finding the same pivot - and you did the rest quickly. You found the pivot quickly. Took me awhile.

American Boy I have notation to explain it. But it is not ready to issue. It introduces a method to write sudoku logic to understand why any cell has to be particular number. Actually it is method to type a sudoku puzzle without squares. I hope it will be known by my name in the world. It will supercede Synder notation. Coming soon..

8 could have gone in 2 spots in that 1st column. It could have gone into the 2nd square from top, and into the square he actually put it in. Why did he arbitrarily chose the lower square? This needs a solid explanation; everything else is pretty much obvious logic. Why did you pick the 6th instead of 2nd square from top in 1st column?

Hello Sudoku Guy! 😊 Found your video when looking into sudoku techniques. I have been playing sudoku for a while now including physical copies and websites/apps. I have been working through some spiral bound puzzles (Brain Games) and noticed I can get through levels 1-3, but then 4 I can only finish about half and then level 5 is just a disaster! So I wanted to challenge myself to learn techniques to try to finish the whole book! Your teaching and enthusiasm makes your video a delight to watch and breezes by! I especially had an eye opening realization with finally understanding the XY Wing technique when shown in a puzzle we’ve come to know and love (haha). Thank you Robin! The pivot square in box 3 was fantastic. I didn't know about that. I was able to fill in most of the puzzle but without knowing about the pivot rule I wasn't able to figure out the last part of the puzzle. Square 3 in box 3 couldn't be an 8. Beautiful! Thanks! 👍👍

Not quite true... Mr. Sudoku Guy has not, to date, replied to my question in lesson 20 regarding an incorrect deduction using the "cleaver" and "mallet" principles. Instead of pointing out my "mistake" and explaining his deduction or admitting it is is incorrect, his only response was to refer me to a number of his previous lessons which all were irrelevant to my question. I challenge all the admirers here to point out my "mistake" there. This is not to say that I disagree with the positive comments made here. I agree that Mr. Sudoku Guy is an excellent teacher but he is not always accurate and he seems to have trouble admitting a mistake (unless again, I am the one making the mistake..Check it out)
