Hi Sylviana! Yes, I always make my own patterns. There is not a technique that I can explain, it is only experience and make and remake the pieces to get the result that you want :)

I love the look of this bag its really beautiful but I recently posted a comment on here letting you know that this patterns counts are off and the end result doesnt quite match what you show on video. Please consider including a written version with your graph next time you post a pattern, or maybe just include stitch counts for each row. It wasnt until almost half way through the bag that I realized the graph was wrong and it was a bit frustrating having to continuously modify it I am not trying to be mean in any way Im just letting you know to keep others from going through the same thing. Hi Sabina! In the video we explain that we are making a little sample. The graph is ok, I have made like 5 bags using this pattern and no problems. We try to explain the basic technique, so you can follow the chart and finish the bag. If I have made the hole bag on the video, I had to make hours and hours explaining stitch per stitch... Anyway, thank you for your feedback!

It says Aran, which falls under worsted weight yarn size 4 but is a heavy worsted weight yarn. I'd go with yarn size 4 weight category.

You always have to do double crochet across in all the bag. You only have to pay attention whan yiou have to change the color :)

Ime, acrylic won't be as stiff as cotton, unless you size the hook WAAAY down & pull each stitch tight. I've used such a technique for cup koozies & smaller items, but it's hard & hurts my hands. That said, I'm using worsted acrylic & a H/8/5mm Boye hook for this bag; it's coming out larger (nearly twice the size!) & floppier than the one in the tutorial, but I don't mind. :D

I am confused after watching several videos. I thought you said in another video that ALL of the rounds need to be done in back loop only in order to make the design go straight up. Here I notice that you do both loops (with the exception of when starting the sides of the bag. I started making this bag before I saw this video, and my design curves quite a bit (looks "okay", but not the way it should). Any advice would be appreciated. Hi Diane! Thank you for your message! In the patterns where I use the single crochet, I only take the back loops to keep the pattern straight. If you are making a bag with double crochet, you can take both loops, it will be straight too :)

No, but you can place the colors in the secuence that you prefer (1 black, 1 white. 2 black, 1 white...). Always using the same color per line from rigth to left, and from left to right :)

Maybe, the problem that you have is where you make the first stitch every row, you are making a decrease on each row. Be sure that you always make all the stitches that you have to do :)
