You may be hung up on the term “journal” and thinking of it only in terms of writing. But there are art journals, collage journals and even journals where people glue in random trash from the day, things that would normally be discarded. You could leave room for writing in a journal like this but it can also just be admired as a piece of art all on its own. ❤

I love your combinations, so very pretty! Thanks for sharing the inspiration and ideas! Sure makes me want to get my new Gelli plates out and play. Do you or anyone else know if it’s possible and if so how to slow down the sections that are sped up? I have MS and watching when they are sped up is difficult and frustrating as it’s hard oftentimes to process (neurologically) when it’s sped up. Not complaining, just curious if there is a way to play it normal speed. Thanks.
@CatHand Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Cat! I’m sorry the sped up portions are difficult for you to watch. But yes, you can slow them down - maybe not to normal speed, but definitely slower. Here’s how I do it on my iPhone: Touch the video screen and then click the little cog/gear, then touch Playback Speed to control the speed of the video. Hope that helps you! 😊

Would washi tape work for putting it together at the end?
@CatHand Жыл бұрын
Washi tape tears very easily, so it probably would not work well to hold a journal together. If you want the design of the washi tape, you could glue it to a piece of light colored fabric, or even an old bed sheet, then cut it into strips. 😊

Nice, but what can you actually do with it?
@paulinewhite3273 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I often ask the same question about lots of arty/ craft projects I make, as I don't really have an outlet for after completion. It is easy to become cluttered. I think the pleasure in creating outweighs the practical element. One solution is to gift your creations. With these little journals you could incorporate encouraging words, I'm sure you have family or friends who would appreciate receiving one of these. I read once how a crafter left her makes in places eg, library for people to help themselves. Happy creating. X.
@TeAsEnToRmEnT Жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing, maybe if you stiched in some pages of plain ish paper and made each of the pages a signature before using the tab binding, they would then make super cute mini note books to gift that you can keep in your purse for jotting down ideas, little poems or whatever?

what is 'jelly printing"? I have watched a lot of junk journal videos and have never heard of jelly printing?
@99zanne Жыл бұрын
Gel plate printing. If u r not familiar with it, u put a variety of colors of a medium down on the surface of a gel plate and make marks in some manner, and then pick up the result with paper. U can do it with ink or acrylic paints or watercolors as media. To make marks, you can use all sorts of things like stencils or tools, etc. U use both the negative and the positive images u create to “print” on your paper. U can also do double printing, but u have to figure out registration to do that nicely. Any paper will work. Amazon has the gel plates, which come in various sizes, if there’s no brick and mortar store where u live. If u r careful with your plates, they will last decades.
