1. Plug-in charger cable
2. Open the case
3. Wait 5 seconds
4. Press and hold the button pairing button inside
5. Continue to hold to button for 20-30 seconds

JoesGE.com is a pretty cool place (depending who you talk to it might be more than pretty cool. But hey, I'm just writing this down so that it says something down here, because that's more professional right?) and if you're still reading along at this point you might as well sit down and grab some popcorn because this is about to trail on about how we are this premiere repair service located in Washington State North of Seattle in basically the "Armpit of the US" near Mt Baker (Mt Baker has the world record for most snowfall at 1,140 inches in a season).
All this to basically say that we are all addicted to coffee and stay in the warehouse for ridiculously long hours in order to keep up with the demands of the youth for these two-sided head audio devices and speakers that float when you throw them in the ocean or in your bathtub to test if they actually float. On top of that, we do like it when less stuff ends up in landfills so we hoard everything on shelves with wheels so that we pollute less, it just sits in our warehouse losing molecules slowly over time degrading to become smaller and smaller.
If you are still reading at this point you deserve an award, or a high five, or something because you must either be the most patient person on the planet, or you read blogs frequently. And if the latter is the case, then this whole thing must seem pretty short so let's keep going.
We do some really interesting things here at JoesGE which are frequently documented in our sometimes weekly sometimes never vlogs.
Also, if you are wondering how we keep up with the demands of the people so well, its because 90% of the people that work here are all Russian around getting things done most of the time. Yes, that was a pun, you are welcome. We hope you have a pun-filled day, because who couldn't use a few laughs?

Dude, I was completely frustrated before my run, my earbuds were not working. Came home to fix the problem and you were right on the money with your explanation. Wow! Im so grateful n thankful for this info… good thing i never throw my earbuds away. It has not been working…all of a sudden they could not pair it… so it has been just sitting in the drawer. And off n on i try to try pair it… but it does not work until today, when i saw your video about resetting it… then got updated,,, then got connected… THANK YOU SO MUCH! Now i have two pairs of bose earbuds!

I would NEVER recommend buying these ear buds, got them for my birthday on Jan 22, they worked once and never again, tried this suggestion and still not working, major disappointment 👎

Thank you for this perfect, to the point tutorial... Was having problems with the left earbud being to low (This is my third pair of buds from 3 different makers and they unfortunately always have audio problems) and this actually fixed the issue. Merci

I just got my earbuds and it’s only been about a month and one ear is popping really loudly and sounds drowned out then starts popping again.. is this something can be fixed? I’ll try to reset them it’s just odd, I have the worst luck with earbuds. Back to my gen 1 AirPods, been through AirPods Pro and had bad luck as well. Anything helps thanks.

Hi Joe, I can't connect even after resetting! The right ear bud doesn't work. Sometimes it blinks red, rarely white but mostly doesn't blink at all! I needed your kind guidance please!

Joe, followed your installation. After pressing down for 30 sec, led lights turned off, then turned white,then started to blink red and white, any idea?

Hi Joe. Can Bose QC earbuds be mixed? I have a pair in which the LEFT earbud is blinking RED/WHITE and useless. I bought another set (with case) as parts because the RIGHT earbud has very low volume in the hopes that I could take the working LEFT earbud from that parts set and use it with my original set thus replacing the defective LEFT earbud. Although the replacement earbud charges and shows a WHITE light, it never pairs. I have tried the so called factory reset with negative results. Any advice?

So mine wont work if the case is closed. If I put one in one ear (what I do at work) and close the case they shut off. When I get a certain distance from the case itself they start to cut out. Sound gets choppy like cd skipping.

Do both need to flash blue? Only my right will flash blue, while the left flashes or stays white. These are brand new and I have never connected them.

This soft reset doesn't seem to work on my Bose QC Earbuds. I tried updating the firmware from the Bose Website, that doesn't work as well. My Earbuds aren't connecting to any device - keeps "rejecting the pairing"

Right earbud just completely died while in my ear and now my left earbud is in never ending white flashing light mode. They won’t even reset. So disappointing - this video was super helpful though!

These earbuds are horrible. My first pair got static noise in the right earbud after a month. I sent them to get repaired and I got a brand new pair. Now, right now, my left earbud just died. Like that...did nothing to them and it shows no battery in the app and the LED light shows white and blue at the same time. Don't buy this product. Total garbage product from Bose.

I was on the phone with Bose support. My right earbud did not turn on white or blue, so apparently it didn't recharge anymore. The right one is the Master, so if it doesn't work, nothing works. Support was very helpful though, I'm getting a replacement

If you use the wrong power supply usbc the reset might not work. I tried these steps with a weaker charger and it didn't work. When I tried again after I found a better charger it worked.

While I’m doing my errands I usually put one on (right earbud) once I put the right one back to charge and use the left one. It disconnects, it will only stay connected if the case is open. Is this normal or the right one is the only earbud that can be connected while having the case closed?

Light on the right earbud doesn’t turn on or blink at all when in the charging case

Unfortunately, it didn't. When I try to update I get an error message: "It looks like your case is empty. Disconnect the USB cable and make sure both earbuds are placed in the case. Then, close the lid and connect the case using the USB cable." Do you have any solution suggestions?

Hi, does anyone know how to fix the intermittence sound problems? Does not work :(. Only one earbus in blinking blue for a few seconds. Then both are blinking white (charging)

This is not working i tried but before 30secs the light off then when i release my finger to the power Bluetooth then it shows up again the white light

It may be your noise cancellation. Try to turn off the noise cancellation.

Bose ear buds are rubbish. I have the QC1. They pair to my phone but no sound. I've tried every possible solution I could find including this one. Nothing works and Bose is zero help because the warranty has expired. I will never buy another Bose product. I am not alone, I've read many reviews and comments from pissed off Bose customers

I just got these earbuds yesterday and they just stopped working. My right earpiece's light is very dim and neither will connect to my phone or respond to the Bluetooth button. The battery was high when it died out and I did not drop the earbuds or the case since I got it yesterday. I have been in search of any tips to help get them working again. please, if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.(This is a replacement pair, this has already happened to a previous pair of mine too!)

I have same problem Brand new used them once then the next day nothing the right earbud is dimmer and will not connect or do anything!

I used my ear buds ONCE. I opened them today and the right ear bud wont turn on and the left one won’t even connect to my phone or show up on my Bluetooth. I don’t know what to do. I tried doing this already :/

Help! My bose qc earbuds randomly disconnected one day and since then I can't seem to get them to work. Only left earbud have white led light and the right one seems dead. Resetting them seem to do nothing and holding bluetooth button kills all lights and then it goes back to left earbud have solid white light again.
