Hi this project is very well......but there you used 9v 2A adapter right.....but can I use 12V 2A adapter and step down the voltage to 5V?????

In datasheet states that 3.7v - 4.5v only for sim900a is that 5v safe for sim900a

This is due to you didnt include fona library inside your arduino IDE, you may search how to include library into arduino ide. After that, should be okay. thanks

the gsm need at least 2A. better use dc-dc step down. in some case, it can just work without dc dc module, but sometime error

i think your arduino port didnt select correctly, try select it correctly under the (sketch --> port)

you can use external 5v minimum 2A supply instead

@@kstar9530 like using your phone charger or other DC adapter 5V with minumum 2A. You need to cut the wire and solder it to your module or buy a connector
