I have had a few “other” brand machines through the years but when I bought a very used Bernina from a coworker I was sold. What a workhorse. The stitches were just beautiful and perfect. I am sure others say that about their favorite machines but this was my decision to keep in the brand. Not sorry. I have upgraded and am ready to use my BSR for home quilting as a senior I am leaning toward lap quilts and find them easier to quilt on my machine. Free motion quilting was never an option in my mind but you know what they say “old dog, new tricks”!!!

For anyone who feels these machines are unaffordable, considered buying pre-owned from a dealer. I got mine that way and they offered financing and a warranty. I just love my Bernina 770QE. Considering how much time I spend on my sewing and quilting hobby, it was definitely worth it.

I have a B560 and have used my BSR before but I always have trouble getting it started. Right now I have gone thru the set up several times including restarting my machine and I cannot get the stop start button to glow red. The machine won't sew.
@BerninaInternational3 жыл бұрын
Dear Linda, please make sure the cable is plugged in correctly, select the BSR mode, then press the start/stop button or step on the foot control and move your fabric. The machine will start to sew. If the machine still does not sew, please check if the sensor of the BSR is soiled. Please also try starting in the middle of the fabric (instead of starting in a corner). Did you try different fabrics? If nothing helps, please visit your dealer and have him check the BSR.

What is the problem when using 2 thread colours? One on the backing is navy and the top one is white, but when sewing with my bsr foot on my bernina 550 the bottom colour appears on the top white fabric. How do i correct this problem. Elsa Visser South Africa

Dear Elsa, please reduce the top thread tension and always test-sew before quilting. We hope you will be able to solve the problem. If not, please get in touch with your BERNINA dealer. Kind regards from Switzerland

Hi Jennie, unfortunately, we don't have electronic files for the manual of this machine in our archives, but maybe one of the manuals at www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Out-of-Print-Manuals/BERNINA-manuals/Overlockers will help? Kind regards from Switzerland

In BSR mode 1, why does my sewing machine sometimes race ahead so fast that my entire sewing table vibrates?
@BerninaInternational2 жыл бұрын
Hi Debbie, the general rule is that the faster you move your hands then the faster the BSR foot will move. Therefore this shouldn’t happen. Please get your technician to look at the foot the next time you are in the store.

Can you use this foot on the Bernina 530?
@BerninaInternational4 жыл бұрын
Dear Ginmars1, yes, the BSR is compatible with the BERNINA 530 (not with the 530 record though that was built in the 1950s and 1960s). For full compatibility information on all our accessories please refer to the BERNINA accessory catalog: www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Product-Catalogs. As you can see on page 2 of the catalog, the B 530 is listed in category B5. The BSR can be found on page 32. It is compatible with category B5. Happy stitching!

Wish you have a verbal tutorial for this...instead of just the text of the screen. Much easier to learn that way, at least for me it is.
@BerninaInternational5 жыл бұрын
Dear Kim, thanks for your comment. We have voice-over instructions on some of our videos but mostly use text inserts. Text inserts have many advantages: They make it possible to stop a video at any time and still read the message, they are ideal for people that watch the video on a mobile device with the sound turned off and, last but not least, they make our videos understandable for the hearing impaired. We hope the video above still helped you with your BSR stitching! Kind regards from Steckborn

Thank you for the courtesy of a prompt response. I have two more suggestions for your consideration: 1. Please use the TERRIFIC Heritage Creations’ KZbin explanatory videos to support your customers post-purchase. I have owned many Bernina machines since the 1980s, most recently the 580. After I purchased the 880, I had to sell it and buy the less complex 580 version because I live too far from a local Bernina dealer to take advantage of their high-quality in-store Post-purchase support. I struggled mightily to master all the marvelous 580 capabilities with little success UNTIL I discovered the INCREDIBLY GENEROUS Heritage Creations on-line machine model-specific detailed video explanations of Every Single Page of the user manuals for Every Bernina model. 2. In your current KZbin videos, after darkening the font ;) please leave the instructional phrases visible on screen long enough for customers to read and process the information.

I have had this for years and I cannot get this stupid thing to make good stitches without skipping and missing the bottom thread and none of your tutorials actually teach you anything about how to use this machine and this add-on… These tutorials are no better than the little pictures you get on the instruction book Give me an instructor who is talking about the mechanics of how this is working. What’s the difference between BRS one and BRS to? show me how theywork

@@BerninaInternational I have a 440 QE Aurora. I really would like to see Troubleshooting. IF your stitching are doing This, then you need to do THAT.... If your BSR is not doing A then try doing B... for 7 years i have had this and I can NOT get the BSR 1 or 2 to reliably work. I am better off using the Yarning Foot and no dog feet to do any basic/simple FMQ.... All i ever find online is HOW to set it up and HOW it should work. but I cant find anyone tell me about what to do if Its not working correctly. I cant find anyone talk about doing this for the first time and how to learn to use it. Maybe its not working right because I am not moving the fabric right.... but i cant tell you that because your pretty little videos show perfection from the moment it is plugged in... there is no education or instruction... when i go to shows and quilt stores. they all say my machine is too old for them to help me...
