The way you painted the greys from the front of the base was awesome! You could literally see the base come to life as if a sun was rising and illuminating the surface!

Love at first sight. I'll be planning my scheme around the bases now. Don't have an air brush so hoping that using a white spray and then glazing will give me a good result. These just hit on such a primal love of space pictures and how stark the light is without an atmosphere or anything to diffuse it. I really want to add an extra foot prints too. I never realized how much the Votann feet leave a classic astronaut style boot print. Guess I shouldn't be surprised by still

Was looking for a tutorial on lunar bases for my own LoV - will definitely be making use of the techniques you used here!

I LOVE ALL YOUR WORK GOD DAMN IT! On a related note, I bought an airbrush around a year ago and still didn't dare to use it, because of overspray. Do you use an airbrush booth, or how do you make sure, pigments don't go flying everywhere?
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your appreciation! ^^ Indeed I don't use airbrush booth, I paint only with acrylics so I just wear a mask and I open the window that is close to my desk :)

@@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures Oh, and you don't run the risk of a fine mist settling onto your belongings? :D
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures2 жыл бұрын
@@asiburger well, at the moment I didn't notice something suspicious! XD
@HeadHunterSix2 жыл бұрын
@@asiburger if you're getting a fine mist in the area, you're probably spraying in too wide a pattern. No need to have the nozzle open that wide, unless you're painting tanks or large scenery or something. I don't think my spray has ever been larger than the size of my palm, for anything. And good ventilation helps, of course.

airbrushes don't shoot paint all over the place like a rattle-can would :D use it! and then you'll see you've got nothing to worry about :P

I'm curious, why the plastic wrap for the footprint?
@Warhammerpainter7292 ай бұрын
It is so that the miliput doesn't stick to the model and you can see where the foot placement is.

Can u tell how Long it took you to build one of those bases? Without drying time...
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures2 жыл бұрын
withouth considering drying time I think I spent about 3-4 minutes in sculpting them and 5 minutes painting them (the most of the painting time went into cleaning the airbrush between a color and the other one XD). You can easily sculpt and paint 10 bases in a row in 15/20 minutes ^^
