Love, love, love your JJ series. I'm hooked... The self-adhesive flower border would make great hole support for your tags if you cut out the flowers individually. They already have the perfect hole in the middle. LOL

First, let me start by saying, this journal is coming about beautifully!! I love how you tint the paint to just how you like it! The tag is awesome!! And lastly, I watch your videos because you are you. you don't pretend to be something or somebody you are not. I learn so much from you. And you are correct words are just words. I "teach" at a local high school..... if you want to hear foul language, stand in a hallway during a passing period lol!! Now there is some "colorful" language!! I know that I have a mouth like a trucker, as does my husband, and my son, but when we are not in the privacy of our home, or in the classroom, of course we "curb" what we say (at least in front of the students, that's a whole nother post!) Part of art, especially mixed media and junk journaling, is being able to express who you are, without judgement. So, if people want to judge, they can simply move on, watch another channel or turn the damn computer on mute! Keep being you and doing what you love, because that is what we love about you. End of rant!! Feel better soon!! Always, your effing friend from effing Indianapolis, Leslie

+Scrapn Life Away I agree! I cant change who I am just because someone has a problem with it.... they can either deal with it or fuck off and move on! Being a HS teacher... you couldnt pay me enough to do that job.... and i know you arent paid nearly enough to do it! I loved your effing rant! lol Thanks Leslie!

Yes. Exactly. I agree. MUTE it. Foul language - really - I thought this was 2016. I hear offensive language on TV daily or walking past a school bus stop. Who are we kidding? The amount of porn watched by young people is staggering (not that I condone it) & we can't pretend it isn't happening. There's so much more offensive stuff out there in the world aside from a few words, which really are nothing much now, and even the 'C' word is in the dictionary because it has become commonplace. You don't get to tell the movie on TV, which you don't like, how it offends you. If you find it offensive, it's easy. Either mute it, or just change channels.
@PolishPrincess747 жыл бұрын
I agree. They are just words. I am 68 and it cracks me up when you goof or whatever and use some colorful language. I do it. And if whoever is around and huffs about my language, I basically tell them to not listen. Especially when I am not even talking to them. Your work is awesome and I love it. Even with a few "ass" or "crap" or even "shit" thrown in. LOL. Keep it up!

Really enjoying this journalling video. You're so right about them being just words & that it's more the context in which they're used that makes it an issue. You express being frustrated or tired maybe, but none of it is aimed at anyone so I don't think you had any intention of offending anyone. Personally, I think students would like watching your videos because they'd relate to the supposed 'offending' words. Thanks for sharing it all.

I'm absolutely loving this tutorial series. I'm learning so much! I started to look up how to coffee dye as I live in a tiny apt & turning on my oven will make it way too hot in here. Coffee in a spray bottle -yes!! That works for me! I don't drink coffee so I would use instant. I hope that will be just as effective. Unlike others, I am so engrossed in watching that if you "cursed" I didn't notice it. Then again it's not like those words would shock me anyway. I'm 61 years old & when you get to my age you just let that sh*t go anyway. People need to lighten up & focus on the impressive content here. You go girl!

You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all the people all of the time. Stay true to you. Those who like you as you are will keep watching. Those who don't will either deal with your 'colorful' words or won't watch. Don't worry about it. There are far more important things in life to put your energy towards than somebody's critique of your language. Personally the first video I watched of yours was on making your own glitter glue and you had me at 'crapping glitter' I chuckled so much I had to rewind because I missed a bunch of what you said after. I knew right then that I wanted to watch more of your stuff. And you haven't disappointed.

Foul language? I've just found your channel recently but i've watched plenty of videos and I wouldn't call your language foul at all. And that person who called you immature? I don't know what the heck their issue is but immature or whatever, who cares? It's who you are (and honestly part of why I love your videos) and you do not need to explain or apologize for it. Language or behavior, it boils down to if they don't like it they don't have to watch. You keep being you.
@PinkPoodleCrafts8 жыл бұрын
+Musekicker Thanks! I agree! Yes I can be immature... but its not because Im actually immature... Im just being silly. But really is it so bad that someone has to comment that they wish I wouldnt do it as if it really affects them being able to learn whatever it is Im teaching... "Can you not try and make me laugh, I cant learn if Im happy....in fact, punch me in the face because I learn best when I am pissed off and in pain" lol hhahaha

I don’t know why anyone would go out of their way to send you a negative message. I always feel sorry for people like that because they must be very unhappy people. You put a smile on my face and to be honest, I don’t even “hear” your “foul” language because you literally talk like I do. And I am a refined, dignified woman...until I’m not! Curse words are just as expressive as other words, maybe with a little more emphasis. Artists are expressive, creative people. Pay no attention to this person, who obviously has a ton of time on her hands to get so annoyed by literally nothing that impacts her life directly. Keep being you. I learn a lot from you.

Love how this journal is going along, & enjoying your videos. I'm in my mid-60s (almost) , & whilst I don't use these words myself, unless I am really, really angry or upset, & then I might throw out a couple of them lol .....but it definitely would not stop me from watching your videos. I hate it when people try to impose their 'standards' on others. You are a perfectly fun-type of person ....I don't see what she is referring to when she says immature way to start your videos ....I haven't noticed that .....I am just looking forward to watching the video & seeing how the journal progresses. As for the comment about you using foul language, I don't see it as foul. I see it as being yourself, which I find very refreshing. It's possible that the woman who made the comment was raised in the day when women were supposed to "be nice, not speak up for yourself, don't do anything to upset men, sit with your legs crossed and agree with everyone." All that advice only made women weak and subject to abuse. Keep being your funny, strong, "don't care what anyone thinks" self. I love it! BTW, I am 69 years old and am enlightened enough to love it when women speak their minds! Keep up the good work!

Gesso primes the surface of canvas & paper...seals it so that it doesn't soak up loads of paint, ink etc. It also makes a shiny page less resistant to ink or paint.

With all of my heart, I hope I do not come across as disrespectful in any way in my comment! My 9 year old daughter and I love and respect you as an artist, but the words do sting and shock sometimes. None the less, we love you and you do come across as a very genuine person. Love that too! Easy going and fun! It's only my opinion, but I do think that colorful language can be disrespectful and inconsiderate at times and in certain settings such as work, get-togethers and other functions and situations where people who don't personally know us will be. I don't think most adults use swear words or colorful language properly either.... Still, these are Your videos and I respect that. Love your journals and your artistic style! Thanks for sharing.

I dont know... I hear a lot of women in their 50's and 60's saying some pretty colorful things... Its funny because my generation, the 80's kids, are like the last ones who use a lot of colorful language, you would be surprised at how kids today don't use as much colorful language as they used too. The more "hipster" kids dont anyway. Its interesting to see how they have evolved.

What I find absolutely HILL-air-ree-us is that you used more "colorful adjectives" (Dr. Spock) in this video than I have ever heard you say. As many others have said, we watch because you are real, personable, and entertaining, and, yes, I guess I am considered part of the "younger crowd." But, my husband is part of the "older crowd," and he finds you "normal." Like Scrapn Life Away, I taught in public school, but middle school. And let me tell you, they can string together a line of truly foul language. I have never heard you say a derogatory word about anyone, so I think you are pretty safe. As your final words always say, "Be nice to everybody." So to those who want to criticize without being constructive, "be nice." I love what you do and I think Scrapin Life Away, you, and me should get a "virtual beer and shoot the shit."

+Elizabeth Britt well thank you for that! I appreciate it. Funny enough, today I was called a bully! Thats right you heard me (or read me?) right... someone who was unpleasant to me like 6-8 months ago and i left their group because of it and told them to leave me alone.... has now out of the blue decided I was a bully and their only reasoning is because i have people on my facebook that they dont like and who dont like them... so they put an entire post on facebook naming all these people as bullies and I was on that list. I was so shocked by this... i let her know that is slander and just because someone has some people on their fb that dont like you and I dont like you, doesnt mean I am teaming up with them to bully you... and i told her if she didnt remove my name from her list, i would press charges for slander. She removed it but Im still upset at why this would happen.I dont know what the other people have done to cause her to flip her lid and do this but she lost friends over it and she has a business online and likely lost customers. Insane. Ive never bullied anyone... i was always the person to stand up to the bullies and try to get them to quit....and to be an internet bully? Come on, im 43... sick,... and tired... why would I bother?
