Just finding this on February 2, 2023. Thank you so much! I think this is wonderful. A great way to reuse boxes instead of adding to the landfill. Blessings.

I love this demo...the instructions were so easy to follow! I have done 3 boxes , but without lids. I lined one that very shallow one with "contact" paper over very thin cardboard cut to fit, which should be easy to replace later. The other 2 were shipping boxes about 9×12". Those I have lined with a boxed bottom style fabric liner that fits snuggly and can be removed to wash. I have kept all of them, but plan on making a few to give away, too.

Awesome tutorial! I just stumbled upon it serendipitously. I was prepared to sew box covers but it takes longer and is more fiddly so I was looking for another way of doing it. I absolutely love this method for covering a box. Brava! Thank you. 😊

Found your video, Sep 2024. Thank you! Need to cover a box and was hoping not to use the dreaded Mod Podge.

You could use a little fabric glue stick on those tiny tabs to hold while ironing on the top of box. 😊

I very much enjoyed this video and will save it for future reference. It leaves me with two questions: (1) You didn't finished (hem or fold under) any of the edges. Is that because the HeatnBond prevents any fraying? (2) I am, however, in search of direction, instruction, etc. on covering a hinged box with fabric. Can you help me with that?
@Stitchinpost
@Stitchinpost 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Barbara. Yes the HeatnBond will prevent fraying. As for covering a hinged box we don't have any different instructions. I would guess you could simple cut around the hinges to remove the fabric but it's not something I've tired. Good luck.

What is the little iron you’re using and does it work well?

It's the Mighty Steam Iron from Dritz. We love it and use it often, gets nice and hot. You can find it here stitchinpost.com/mighty-steam-iron-from-dritz

I was a bit confused because I'm not doing this side box and or course not this fabric. I wish you had shown the cutting of the fabric.

Can't we just use Elmer's glue?
@Stitchinpost
@Stitchinpost 3 жыл бұрын
The method we use makes sure the fabric is perfectly smooth and adheres to the entire surface of the box for a seamless professional look. We haven't tried Elmer's but from using craft glues in the past I would guess that it would be pretty hard to get the same finish and longevity.
